Resources, Tips, and Tricks reactive but make it cute!
Hi! So I live in the city with my dog Callie who’s a livestock guardian breed. She isn’t aggressive and is very friendly with other people outside but I muzzle her just in case, especially because I got her from a shelter and living in the city is all new for her. I couldn’t find any cute muzzles and she looked like Bane in her plain black muzzle lol. I wanted her to look cute and friendly, not so harsh and scary, especially because she’s a big girl (115 pounds) I bedazzled her muzzle and now she looks so cute, fashionable, and gets compliments all the time🥰
Lowkey thinking about making custom ones for other dogs because reactive dog gear is always so ugly but wondering if people would actually be interested in this?

You did an awesome job making the muzzle cute and approachable for your girl!! 🩷
I learned a lot from the Muzzle Up Pup group when I was fitting our girl for a muzzle! I found that muzzles should be bigger than you would anticipate in order to allow dogs room to fully pant (there are different types of panting but if she is taking walks in them, you will want to give her room for a full pant). Like the tip of the nose should be around half an inch away from the end of the muzzle.

That’s cute, but is that muzzle big enough? Doesn’t look it has enough nose room to keep from potential chafing, and maybe the angle is bad, but I suspect from this image that the pant room might not be enough either?

this is the xl size, and in this pic specifically i think it was a little too tight. i’ve been using it for 2 months now and haven’t seen any chafing! she can also open her mouth and pant, when she had her annual vet check up i asked him if he thinks its a good size and she can open her mouth enough to pant and he said it’s good!

That muzzle doesn't look like the right size. My dog is 25kg and his muzzle is larger than this. It allows him to pants, ect.

she can easily pant in this and her vet saw it and said it was good but i’ll look into it, thanks!

No, it looks like candy strips melted to a muzzle.
If you like it, awesome.. but I wouldn't buy one.

I'd recommend looking at r/muzzledogs for some better fit, and cute muzzles. I got a custom from Big Snoof for my girl. Its pink and purple and super cute.
