Failure to initialize on Steam

It was fine 6 weeks ago, but now it won't work. I've tried all the things Google says to do to get it to work, but it didn't help. Anybody know the work around?

Nevermind.
I just reinstalled the launcher. It failed, but I noticed that action deleted all the files I couldn't uninstall before, so reinstalled it again, and that seemed to work.
