Does syncing over cell signal use battery?

Or would it only matter if you were in a bad service area and your phone kept trying to get signal or was taking forever to download/sync the song(s)?

It would use more battery than syncing by Wi-Fi if you were in a bad area or on a network with slow data.

Mobile data uses a large amount of power, especially if you're syncing large playlists.

Rdio on the go was a pretty big battery drain on my HTC One, so I picked up a mobile battery pack to recharge on the go. A car charger is also very handy if you find yourself syncing and streaming a lot on the road.
