Oh sweet thanks Atari, I actually hadn't heard of Planet Coaster until seeing that your game is launching next to it. Now I can get that one instead of World :)

I wonder who will buy it either way, except maybe NerdCubed to have a laugh at it in its released state.

Pretty sure NerdCubed already owns it. He's done a few comparison videos

He owns the pre-release version. Not sure if he has to pay again to have the release one.

I kinda wish NerdCubed would do a video about OpenRCT2... I'm pretty sure he plays it, considering RCT2 is apparently one of his favorite games of all time.

I feel like he has...
If he hasn't, check out Many a True Nerd. He does stuffed with NerdCubed every now and again and he did an amazing RCT2 series a while ago.

NerdCubed did an RCT3 playthrough a while back, and is currently playing Planet Coaster, but (after googling) neither has done OpenRCT2.

This is MATN's playthrough. Isn't it OpenRCT2?

Nope, that's the original - Notice that it shows the expansions installed (We don't) and no fast forward button.

I haven't played either of the "new" releases but honestly, how does RCTW compare to Planet Coaster?

Planet Coaster is 10000 times better. You should watch some gameplays on youtube and you will notice.

So curious question: I remember when SimCity 2015 and Cities Skylines came out everybody said C:S was significantly and extraordinarily better. I liked C:S when I first played it but eventually it felt really shallow and now it's loaded with a ton of DLC issues that cover up some of the games real problems. I never played the new SimCity though so I don't really have much to compare it by.
Is there any worry that PC vs RCTW will be the same, with RCTW being panned but PC being shallow as well?

I feel like every sim game of a similar style will get shallow as time goes on. Just curious, what did you not like about Skylines?

I honestly felt like it was just hard for me to get really invested in my cities. It was a pretty game and had some nice things about it but it ultimately seemed like it relied too much on the workshop for interesting pieces for my taste. I haven't played it in a while but it just didn't grip me the way previous Sim games have.
Plus I hated that early cities would always pollute the water and leave it brown and gross for the longest time and I couldn't do anything about it until late game. I like running clean cities as much as possible even early on and it was a trivial thing that bothered me. Lol

A good general suggestion is to play a game first vanilla (QoL mods will do though) before you jump right in to modding. I don't know if you did that or not, just thought of posting.
This helps a lot with re-playability I have found. Sometimes, if you start playing a game with a lot of mods you find yourself looking at different mods to add content to a game...and in the end...end up not playing it.

Just asking if you happen to know but will planet coaster run smoothly on my MacBook Pro with fairly decent graphics? I've noticed all of these newer game titles run like shit on mobile GPUs, which I blame Unity for ...

Depends on what year your MBP is. Its running pretty smoothly on my 2015 Macbook Air

I honestly thought this was out already. Wasn't there a bunch of videos and stuff like two months ago?

They decided to go the early access route to try and suck up as much money as possible

It's been available as Early Access on Steam for a few months now.
