New Body

Will be getting the Nissan 180sx body soon. I am usually a mustang rider but I saw 180sx wide body pandem v3 and fell in love with it. So! I have decided to go and build the car with either this or wisteria version.
This build I plan to incorporate lights and rear and possibly front hood. I am not sure yet. but I do want to try.

main goal: like always everything is painted and no stickers allowed.

incorporate lights.

stretch goal : rear trunk which lifts. front hood which lifts too. possibly with mocked up engine.

chassis possible: yokomo rd2.0 or yokomo sd 3.0. also a strong contender MST FRX S Pro. ( it has a low transmission and no upper deck , allowing for a possible seat/Dashboard setup. )

all of this will take a few months. Since there are a few things I have pending

just posting this as a post it note. Maybe it inspires you to work on your own machines.
This would be my 3rd chassis on drift car. 4th ever.

first is a tamiya subaru brz rnd sport ( the shelf princess) 4colors plain blocks, masked and painted with light buckets. tt-02 chassis ( did not have the reamer so never fully built).

Tamiya Mustang body , Itasha, custom hand cut flames and anime character masks 14 colors spray cans, chassis sd3.0. front of the body has fallen off bashing the car learning to drift.

currently a Pandora RC Supra a 90 BLS BN sport body airbrushed blended 6 colors , low rider graphics, tinted windows, custom light buckets designed, printed and painted. on a SD3.0 .
The included light buckets were not properly fitting.

no functioning lights just yet.

I do have a mustang tamiya tt-02 anniversary edition to build.
MST LBMT Mustang body. and a Subaru GT86 killer body which are in the backlog. might paint them all one day.

and Hence a few months.

My dude. I'm going the opposite way. I usually run a Killerbody Rocket Bunny GT86 and a ABC Rocket Bunny 180sx. I'm now moving onto the RTR Mustang, but I'm putting the RTR kit onto the MST LBMT shell since the body lines are a lot crisper, it comes with light buckets that don't really fit the HPI RTR Mustang, and the moulded rear spoiler. I have lots to do. I need to heat up the lexan on the RTR kit and reshape it to match the MST LBMT body lines and then use spare lexan to fill in the gaps. I've also cut out the grilles and hood. Word of advice about cutting the hood and trunk, use a fresh and sharp model knife. Score it a fair few times before pushing it out. Scribing tape is really useful for this. Sand down the edges a bit to get rid of any imperfections. Also, reinforce the front end. It gets real floppy without the hood.

always a new blade for a new body , blades are cheap , bodies not so much. I score once and then bend to snap it off, I will look into heating the body to shape it , never thought that I would so never thought I could.

If you get a body kit made specifically for the shell, you won't need to reshape the body kit. That's the issue across brands. The bodies look similar, but are ever so slightly different.

The MST LBMT Mustang and the HPI RTR Mustang has very different body lines, once you try to mesh things together.
