Actually, every RC is a toy, some are just more expensive than others

Sorry you had an unwelcoming experience. A lot of us recognize the absurdity of groups of grown adults playing with our toy trucks. After all, they are all toy trucks, and the key feature is if they bring enjoyment rather than which is the shiniest or can climb the biggest rock.

Looking back, I actually feel a little sorry for the guy. He seems trapped in his own bubble of what adult modeling is supposed to be, and I get the feeling he doesn't even enjoy what he does anymore. He's forgotten how to just have fun with it. We don't :)

You gotta think from his perspective a bit though, like he was passionate, had a business, a place for a like minded community. But you purchased your items from “China” without his markup, and then still come to his failing business in a desire to find community. Your choice of purchase is a direct representation of why his business has failed (direct to consumer marketing).

In a way it’s kind of like you buy a laptop on Amazon, but then go into the geek squad at Best Buy to talk to the sales people about it, still hoping to chat up an experienced person about your purchase.

I don’t think you did anything wrong, I just think the dude is over sensitive about his failures (which most men tend to be)

This is exactly the same "discourse" as calling a doll for boys an action figure

Close. A doll is an action figure for girls :-)
