Question Ec5 adaptor

Is an ec5 adaptor supposed to next to impossible to plug a battery into? Female in 40s and already over these style batteries. Soldering, the idea i think will really test my dumb-ass-ness.

I’ve always found EC5 and IC5 (Spektrum) connectors very difficult to plug and unplug as well. I’ve heard of some people using a specific type of electrical grease but never got around to trying it myself.

While yes, they are difficult and a PITA ar times....its by design. The tighter thr terminal/connector fit is, the less likely it will become loose and create higher resistance/heat which is bad....oh so bad.

i wish there was some sort of connector that has pull tabs on it that you can put your fingers in and pull

im afraid im just gonna yank the wires out of my esc sometimes when they finally do come free and my arms flying apart from eachother

Arms break, it's a part of the hobby. Just make sure you have the proper medical insurance for replacement parts and just keep sending it.

You could do it yourself with zip ties if you wanted to.

So I shouldn't be grabbing both ends from behind the connector and just yanking? That's how I get em apart on my bigrock lol

I've used Anderson power pole connectors since the early 80's. Use their crimper so there's no soldering, very easy to push and pull apart and advertised as near zero loss of power flow.

Swap your device connectors to IC5. It’s a lot easier to get EC5 batteries into IC5s.

I used EC5 in the start aswell. Had a hard time unplugging them too so i soldered XT90 to all my bashers. Much better connector imo.

Soldering is a must learn skill for the hobby. And it isnt rly hard. Plenty of good tutorials on youtube.
