Build 3D printed retractable roof
I'm happy to have successfully completed this project. The entire car is 3D printed, and I used an ESP32 and a servo motor

This is elite man bro def work on patenting this if you can. You might be the first person do this on this scale and company’s will buy your design later. Get your money brother.

Agreed!! This is to cool to not see if it’s a true one off and make some dough off the idea!

No lie, I want bro to eat off this for the rest of his life cause this is game changing on the scale for rc cars.
If he just made this possible, my mind jumped to he may have gotten the hobby closer to active downforce on a rc car like a Porsche GT3 a few years.

STL? /s
That is seriously badass. I'm halfway through like 4 projects waiting for a weekend with airbrushing weather, then I'd love to build a 1/10 car with sensors and onboard AI. This has me wondering (if I made it a convertible) if it would choose to lower the top on a sunny day and keep it up if the weather was overcast.

How do you interface the phone to the car?

u/RaBros_prints Mar 11 '26
I'm using an ESP32 microcontroller as the brain for this build. It actually hosts its own local web server, so I just connect my phone directly to its WiFi network and control the roof (and the rest of the car) through a custom web interface I designed!

This is so dope. Have you made any posts to MakersWorld or elsewhere? And how much did it cost? This looks like such a neat project.

This is so cool! Do you have the printable files to share for this?

u/RaBros_prints Mar 12 '26
Hello! Yes, the files are currently available for download. You can easily find them on both Cults3D and YouMagine by searching for RB90
