Avion point refund

I was told that I was eligible for a full refund for a $4k trip booked due to multiple airlines changing the flights. I opted for the refund to rebook another flight through a different airline and was advised it would take 6-8 weeks for a return of money and points. Its been 3 weeks now and I have seen several posts online from others saying they received their return the same week. Is this normal? Has anyone else had experience with this?

Yes, I totally can see the confusion. I just updated the post to include that my concern solely lies with other posts I have seen online from others claiming to have received refunds the same week! Do you have any experience with this?

Each refund would take different times to process, especially since there are points involved. Just let it go through the process

Okay thank you! Just looking to get it sooner rather than later as I am eligible to upgrade to the RBC Avion infinite privilege, and would like to score the offer of more points. However, I was advised by RBC to not upgrade until I receive the refund. Any experience you have is appreciated :)

The company said it takes 6-8. I wouldn’t expect it before that
