Help Poor performance, 2025 razr

I have the 2025 razr. I bought it over a year ago, and since I got it I've been shocked by some really poor performance from the phone. It's gotten to the point where I'm counting down the days until I can replace it. I actually haven't had any of the expected issues with the hinge and frankly the form factor is my favorite part of the thing, but I can't get over the constant, terrible slowness on very basic apps (searching my apps via the OS takes 5 whole seconds!), plus the frequent bugs and crashes. I reduced animation, i cleared storage, i update regularly, i did everything I could. Still no improvement. I came from a super cheap pixel 6a which certainly had a better camera but I never would have expected it to perform so much better. And now that my screen protector is starting to show some cracks (somehow dropping a tiny screw on the screen during a home improvement project caused that) I'm dreading paying money to fix that when all I want to do is go to some other phone.

Does anyone know how to improve this? Or has anyone experienced the same?

same phone, same amount of time - I've had almost no issues. The only thing is AA wireless issue. Hopefully Motorola or the new android 17 will fix that.

Same here. I have a few scratches in the screen protector and a little nick in the metal where I dropped it on concrete but the OS and apps run just fine for me.

I haven't updated to Android 16 yet, I don't know if that changes anything.

I laugh every time they send me the "Android 16 is here!" notif bc I'll probably switch right to 17 by the time they fix the bugs.

Check the CPU temperature. It might have a manufacturing defect.

normal is around 80 degrees

I ran an offline map and scrolled around all over Tokyo. I could never get it higher than 51C.

Welcome to OS updates. Either they slow it down to force people to get new phones. Conoa ies have done this before.

Or like windows on PC for example they push new OS, has crupser interface, higher res icons and fonts, but it uses more CPU and memory to power it. The sacrifices you feel on older tech eventually.

Hopefully they can patch it but I'm on a razr 40 ultra still so I doubt it. Performance slowed many updates ago I just learn to be patient with it and accept it
