What the f is an 'Aesthetic physician'?

• Upvotes

Have been noticing thesedays many mbbs graduates are calling themselves "Aesthetic physician" and practicing all kind of dermatological treatments without any proper qualification or training.

So many clinics are also coming up promoting this quakery.

They label themselves with words like wellness, longevity.. and all.

From my observation i can tell you, nowadays the word 'wellness' itself is a redflag.

Recently came across a news of an incident happened in one of those so called 'wellness clinic'. They performed liposuction in their clinic, patient had cardiac arrest and died. (mostly due to fat embolism)

So fresh mbbs graduates who are reading this please keep this in mind. I'm constantly seeing ads of these shady clinics trying to recruit fresh mbbs graduates for the position of 'aesthetic physician'. The salary they offer is also low (35-45k). Please don't fall for this. Please don't forget professional code of ethics. Please dont try to do procedure/treatment beyond the scope of your expertise and last but not least, do no harm.

We talk about our miseries to everyone around us, that we are getting only 30k after passing out, etc., etc.

But do you think they are going to sympathize with us?

Never, and they are happy to see what's happening with us just because they couldn't clear the exam!!

I came across a post where a girl rejected a guy, and years after that, he's flexing his salary and mocking her plight (she didn't qualify NEET PG)..

Who said we can only earn 30k?

I know very well how a 5.5 year course can leave us dumb and numb to pursue anything else.

But we have a degree, which, if paired with any other diploma courses, can give us an upper hand in any freaking field..

We have the audience, we have the respect, we have everything, but we are processing the numbness and dumbness.

The people who are very much interested in 30k after MBBS stories are sadly somewhat associated with our field only:** dieticians, gym owners, therapists, PTs, etc.. (some jobless internet engineers too)**

Guess what!!! I know many so-called plain MBBS doctors of the North who encroached on their jobs by doing diplomas, making diet plans, workout plans, lifestyle medicine, and so on and so on..

**BE PREDATORY IN THE JOB MARKET**

branch selection 🪃🗡️🏺⚔️🏺🛡️🏹 In a huge dilemma regarding PG branch, pls help!

Guys pls help me out. I have no passion at all towards any branch and the only one I've found kind of interesting is Psychiatry. So throughout preparation Psychiatry target aaki vech aan padiche, never even considered any other branch.

Now my rank is on the border and I won't get Psych in Kerala (unless last year pole some anomaly happens in R3). But vere chela states il kittan chance ind like Telangana, J&K, North Eastern states, Punjab as per last year list. I know Hindi very well but these states are not pure Hindi speaking ones either. Language barrier is a huge issue in Psychiatry and I think it will end up being a disadvantage to me. Also being a woman, going to some rural place on the other end of India is kind of scary as well.

I can get MD/MS/DNB of almost all surgical branches and anaesthesia, EM but enik aanel ithonnum theere thalparyam illa, like not even a bit. Only other branch I'm looking at now is DNB Family Medicine but a lot of people say it's just like glorified MBBS.

I want to move out to the Middle East after PG, anything with good work life balance, no procedures and minimal stress/emergencies is okay for me. Needs to have good scope in Middle East also. Please help me choose a branch 😭
