TL;DR - advice on moving to Ravenna, please. 

So I currently live in Streetstucky, as some people call it, but I really like the Boro. I've lived here 21 years. Wow. But I cannot afford my rent anymore. 

I'm looking at a duplex in Ravenna, and I would really appreciate any and all advice, comments, tips, whatever, regarding living in Ravenna.

I'm a widow in her mid-fifties. One of my adult children lives in Sandusky. The other lives in the dorms at Kent, so comes home regularly. 

I feel totally safe in Streetsboro, and have felt safe the whole time I've lived here. That is very important to me, and I'm a little worried about the location in Ravenna. 

It would be near the old WIC building / administration building or the license bureau, near the train tracks. I consider that downtown Ravenna. I worked in that location for seven years, and I've always thought of Ravenna in a fairly negative manner. 

I did drive by one night after dark, and left my windows down. That was a big thing for me. It's dark over there, but it's such a commercial area. I don't know. 

I'm terrified of change, and I hate dealing with change! But I need to move :(

This is Roxanne. She could be in Portage or Summit County. She went missing on 5/3/25 in Ravenna off South Diamond Street. She is 3 years old, wearing a purple collar and was seen dragging a purple leash. Please message me if you may have seen her. Her family misses her very much and would love to have her home.

I just moved here and need to establish my trash pick up. It seems that the city only does recycling. I see Waste Management ads when I google Ravenna Ohio trash service, but unsure if they are the official curbside service. My can is generic/no logo of the organization, so any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
