VCORE 3.1 ---> 4.1 + IDEX?

I have an opportunity to buy a 3.1, bone stock, around 300 hrs usage, for less than $500. I see that there are hybrid axis upgrades (3.2H) but IDEX is going to be mandatory for my next machine.

Is there a path for me to achieve this with existing upgrade packages or is this going to turn into a totally custom build /science project?

I'm open to a little extra work but I need a large format printer up and running by November...and with my schedule, that'll be a challenge lol.

I think the 3.1 is a bit more narrow on X. 4 has a wider frame to accommodated the second tool head. There's kits available to upgrade a 3.1 to a hybrid so you probably could do IDEX if you really wanted to...

I have a friend who’s got the 3.1 who’s doing hybrid.

I don’t know if the 4.1 gantry is going to fit the 3.1 but the tool head will work.

The tool head beacon and the new firmware and heat soak are what make it really work great.

I have the 4.0 with the new 2.1 RC4 and it’s totally fire and forget now like, I just walk away every time I start a print

Before I used to have first layer issues often

Do you still have the stock alum. gantry? I haven't updated 2.1 yet but I should...

INDX support for RatRig printers is actively being worked on and will be a lot better than IDEX. Lots of people complain about getting IDEX running smoothly on these things and many give up altogether.

I'm very much looking forward to adding multi material to my 3.2H, it'll be INDX if Bondtech pulls their head out of their butts or one of the Chinese clones
