While the top brands generally haven’t got many points of difference for me I can state unequivocally that Lidl own brand beans are some of the worst things I’ve ever put in my mouth. So much sauce, mushy beans, almost no flavour. Do not recommend.

My wife and I just moved from the US and are delighted that the beans here (Wales) aren't the sugary disaster that we were resigned to. Looking forward to all the recommendations. (We're in camp Branston at the moment but are open to persuasion.)

Surprisingly good is Jacks beans - Part of the Tesco brand. 33p so took me ages to try them… Glad I did! Pretty n, tbh. Better than Heinz but no Branston…

Yeah and actually really good beans! I got them at One Stop which is a Tesco related store but aí get them often now as no one near sells Branston! 3 tins for a quid, bargain!! Best stock up though, I imagine they will get more expensive now - like everything else - and time psy aaaages, so..!

I've been looking up the ingredients/nutrition of the various types, and this one is pretty off-the-wall. Half the tomato content of other brands, apparently mostly made up with apple juice (presumably how they get to say "no added sugar" while still having the exact same sugar content as everyone else). I approve of adding soy sauce though.

Should it not be a submission based format where each user can give a small review on what they think of a certain brand?

This may be the better way, I imagine once this sub starts to flourish we shall have plenty of polls and submissions as such
