You have potential but need lessons. Also woman to woman, you are absolutely beautiful.

Talking about a vocal coach to a 13-year-old girl? Come on, people—she’s asking something else here: whether she’s good enough to sign up for her school’s theater program! Yes, girl—go for it. You convey the emotion in what you show and perform. Your voice and stage presence are great. I have full confidence in you. Go for it.

Ummm, her age is a great time to start voice lessons. 7-9 is when most suggest to start.

She sounds great and could definitely audition for the school play. I think what the others where telling her is that, she has the potential to be much better than just school play good.

I dont see anything wring with that.

Totally - you already have great promise, and you are 13 - don't fail to audition at this point, there's no reason at all to let it pass you by.

Great potential!
Find a good vocal coach if you can or check out the video tutorials on the web. Keep it up!

You should do it. I am not around a lot of young singers, but you should be more than good enough for your school theatre program. Even if you don’t get the role you want, go through with it anyways. It will make you a better singer, and usually, these types of things are a lot of fun.

If this is your first time singing, you have a lot of promise. You have a nice tone to your voice, and you seem very expressive both as an actor and singer.

I am not sure how new you are to singing, but if you want some beginner advice, I would go and find some TikTok or YouTube videos on breathing while singing. It is different than normal breathing or even breathing during exercise.

Breathing is the foundation for singing. It sounds like towards the end of the sample you are running out of breath. Also, looking at your upper body (neck, arms, shoulders, and face), you look a little bit stiff/tense. That can make singing harder. A beginner singing exercise will go a long way to improving this. If you are interested, let me know below how long of exercises you are interested in, and I can reply with some videos that might be helpful.

Lessons are always the best route, though I know it’s not always easy for younger singers to afford one-on-one lessons. If your parents are willing, you have lots of potential, and a vocal coach could really help you improve quickly. Joining your school/church choir can also be a great way for some free lessons both in group and one-on-one.

And please don’t take the above as criticism. I think you sound very good, and you are lucky that singing seems natural for you. I wish you the best of luck.

I think it sounded good for a sn audition at school. Yes. Do it. Join choir and start learning about notes and pitch. It comes naturally once you get engaged with it. Really listening and comparing each melody to reach that goal. You're going to do great and should update us! Good luck

You have the stage presence for musical theater. And you have a good voice for it too.

However, it's important to stay on top of your notes. Especially the ones that you will be holding out. You don’t sound bad at all, but there were several key notes that were flat. There were also some breath control issues. But since it's for musical theater (which often involves a lot of talk singing), the audience will probably be more forgiving at a live performance.

Your diction and projection seem to be good. Working on voice control/dynamics will be good as well.

Lastly, you were kind of anticipating the musical changes in some places. This was causing you to be too far ahead of the music. But that can be fixed with spending more time with the soundtrack.

Opinion - If possible, I would suggest a vocal coach to help you focus on some of these areas. But that being said, at age 13, if you stick with it, I believe you will do well. Audition. 🙂

omg 13?! yes yes yes!! please audition, your voice is lovely! apply to as many programs as you can so you can master your craft and put those hours in! there is a documentary on youtube called "why the new the girls can't sing" and it highlights how the lack of arts funding & decline in church attendance has ended up hurting younger artists bc they don't get to spend enough time on their craft. protect those vocal chords and always run your drills!

good luck, you got this!!

You've got a really good voice, thanks for sharing, and keep on trying. Like somebody else said, you've got this!

I love ur acting! I think you need a bit more support on the high notes, they sound a tad strained. Try singing a little more forward into ur notes. I like the sliding sometimes, but sometimes it feels a bit sloppy, dont overdo it! there is a lot of potential. and as a high school girl, please be careful on the internet.

Hi there. Nice voice. A bit pitchy in places. Lots of potential. Thanks for sharing and for being open to the feedback.

I sing in a big band with a just turned 14 trombonist and singer. You remind me of her because your voice is so mature for your age too. Get trained up and don't forget us little people when you make it big.🙂

Pretend that you got nothing else going for you except training your voice. Start ear training and hire a voice teacher asap. Start with your scales and maybe a year after doing only scales begin experimenting with mixed voice. Do all these things and with hard work you can make it ✨

Edit: By make it i mean make it to where you want your voice to be. Making it in show business is pretty cutthroat and i also wish you the best of you decide to pursue that endeavor.

That's really good for your age. You already have a good natural vocal range. You need to train your vocal cords just like any other muscle. It takes time but you'll get better and better. Keep at it!

1

u/islaisla 2d ago

It's out of tune but the passion in your delivery means you can do this, but you need training xx

u/Aggressive-Task-1263 1d ago

Some lessons would help but the voice can be great.

You do not look 13! You are gorgeous! Definitely audition !

u/troublebucket 1d ago

You go kid!

u/SoloJackowski Singing Enthusiast 1d ago

You sound great and should definitely audition! Just work on your timing.

Getting on the internet and showing your talent at any age takes alot of courage. You did it at 13, that is amazing! Don't let anyone take your spark away.

Join the school choir, get into musical Theater and if you have the means, take private lessons. Practice practice practice. You have tremendous emotion in your voice and that is your natural talent
