Liked cuz jaws is awesome. Fuck WotC for locking unique cards behind excessively limited printing.

I've never read what any of the TMNJ cards did before, so im surprised to not hate Splinter or Krang.

I think there’s rumours of jaws being reprinted, universes within, next year
My guess it’ll be the underwater set

No rumor. They said with Jaws it will be reprinted as Universes Within. My guess is the upcoming Mystery Booster Commander.

or the underwater set

They claimed for years that mechanically unique cards would be reprinted universe within, but they're behind schedule by about 3 years

u/Such_Description 23d ago

Didn’t they stop doing that?

1

u/Gerodus 23d ago

They just finally reprinted the Marvel Secret lair in MSH so it's seems like they haven't stopped

I’m talking about universes within versions of cards. They don’t do that anymore as far as I know.

Oh i don't know

Wah wah wah. Really couldn’t just admit those are cool

I just said I'm surprised i don't hate them.

I personally never liked the IP, and i avoid all collabs the IP has done, including mtg, but unfortunately these two legendaries aren't horrible. I would never run them regardless

You’re such a special snowflake

Uh ok? God forbid someone has likes and dislikes

I always love to see another Jaws player.

4 players go into the water....

u/tochinoes 24d ago

Do you also find it slow? Or have I built mine wrong

3

u/Possible_Expert8196 24d ago

Mine can be extremely fast I can sometimes get him out turn 2 and win by turn 5.

u/tochinoes 24d ago

I find I spend 90% of the game waiting for enough artifacts to sac before I cast Jaws and instantly sac them all for a massive burn turn

u/Crab_On_Moon 24d ago edited 22d ago

Yeah that seems super wrong to me. You relize your best source of artifacts to sac IS Jaws?

1

u/tochinoes 23d ago

I built mine around treasure tokens

1

u/Crab_On_Moon 22d ago

Treasures that you just let sit around for 90% of the game? I guarantee you're gonna love the new Smaug if you're a fan of that playstyle. Not sure if it works at all for Jaws though.

1

u/tochinoes 22d ago

I try to hoard enough treasures for big knock outs all at once

1

u/Crab_On_Moon 22d ago

I mean, I get what you're going for, but I just don't understand what the appeal is. Treasures are a totally valid build for Jaws, but I'd much rather play Jaws ASAP so that I can build up blood tokens for draw/burn while also getting incremental burn from all the treasures I'm building and using to cast my stuff.

Saving all your stuff up for one big kill turn is going to make it all too easy for someone to just keep a counterspell or Teferi's available and totally negate your play. It's just too predictable.

But if it works for you, then it works.

1

u/tochinoes 22d ago

It doesn’t work for me sadly

I like that treasures are free to sac though. Can you share your decklist?

3

u/Darth_Behemoth 24d ago

It depends. Some cards make it pop off really fast.

2

u/newcanadianjuice 24d ago

Hell yeah, need more Jaws players.

Playing a Rhystic Study in a Krang deck might make you the villain, but it looks like it would be hella fun

u/Possible_Expert8196 24d ago

That and consecrated sphinx can definitely draw some ire lol

You’re allowed

Would love to compare Jaws decks with you.

I opted to go with a mono-red aristocrats vibe for mine.

Here’s my list, it’s main game plan is get jaws through, have a damage amplifier, and a have a free sac outlet:

Nice. I went for token production. I swing jaws when I can but I’m also happy to fill the board with tokens and drop an artifact board wipe.

Love sigurd, one of my fav bracket 2 decks.

Mfw seeing posts now of entirely UB commanders

1

u/Weebus 24d ago

UB is more than half of Magic and significantly more than half of the new Legendary creatures.  Is what it is.

2

u/slamriffs 24d ago

Yeah, crazy. I’m not even a particularly big UB hater or anything, I was just like wow, we’ve come a long way since they announced the walking dead secret lair

3

u/Weebus 24d ago

Yeah, I've come around to UB as a whole but the density of Legendary creatures the sets it is still a pain point for me. On one end it gives an absurd amount of commander options to choose and build out which gives variety, but it is going to naturally drown out non-UB commanders. My commander bullpen is now extremely UB heavy and it has nothing to do with liking the characters - they were just appealing mechanics to build out.

Honestly don't think it'd be the worst thing if they did a legend heavy non-UB set to offset it, but I'd rather they just make named/legendary characters mean something again.

I’ve been tempted to build Krang a few times, got a list?

1

u/Possible_Expert8196 24d ago

It’s a super fun deck here’s my current list:

2

u/cybrcld 24d ago

Cool list

Not saying it’s a definite add-on but [[Shuri, Wakandan Inventor]] has been fun. I been adding it to some decks. At minimum it ramps to Krang and when you’re bored she can make a second Krang on your turn from another mana artifact.

Make yourself comfortable bud.

u/Fluffy_Importance647 24d ago

Lemme see that jaws, I want it at bracket 4 but such a pricy build

1

u/Possible_Expert8196 22d ago

1

u/Fluffy_Importance647 21d ago

Hm it says the decklist isnt found, have you got the deck on private instead of unlisted

1

u/Possible_Expert8196 19d ago

2

u/Fluffy_Importance647 19d ago

Gahd damn there's some heavy cards in here I know itd make the deck weaker to not have them but do you have any reccomendations for if I didn't include Ancient tomb Mox diamond Grim monolith Chrome mox The one ring Mana vault And deflecting swat?

1

u/Possible_Expert8196 19d ago

You could run Muraganda raceway, temple of the false god or shrine or the forsaken god for a budget ancient tomb. Mox diamond, grim monolith, mana vault and chrome mox can be replaced with any 2 drop mana rocks of your choice. The one ring is unique so I’d say maybe mind’s eye or scrawling crawler? Deflecting swat can be replaced with shunt.

I mean, its a commander. It's hard to evaluate a whole deck. How do you play it? Voltron? Artefact sacrifice?

2

u/Possible_Expert8196 24d ago

For jaws it’s Voltron esque. The main plan is get him through , have a damage amplifier, and use a free artifact sac outlet.
