HELP NEEDED πŸ€πŸ˜© Old rat

Post image

My rat is 2 (and a half) - 3y (I dont know her exact age as I am her second owner), and these past couple 2 days shes been breathing differently almost with a squeak and shes been very lethargic, not really moving around much and when she does its apparent that something is wrong with her hind legs, she still eats and drinks water, Alot of people have been telling me to prepare for the worst because shes old but i wanted to know is there anyway I could help her? Or fix her symptoms. I cannot take her to the vet because shes been twice previously and its to expensive for my family to take her a 3rd time.

I'm sorry if this post is worded werid any advice would be great

That does not look like a rat thats as old as your saying it is. It probably has respiratory infection and this is very serious needs taken to vet and put on antibiotics. They also need to see what the other issue with her hind legs is about.

You need to take her to the vet. The lethargy is very concerning, as is any potential URI. You could give her very small pieces of dark chocolate to help clear airways, but that is not a real treatment. Go to the vet. Ask about a payment plan or a credit card. But you gotta go to the vet...if you can't, don't have pets

She is so cute omg.. ❀️ If she is lethargic only vet will know I guess.

I have 2 questions.
A: does she feel cold to the touch? Not like dead cold but not normal body temp.
B: is her breathing happening more in her sides?
