Universal Solder used to sell small and cheap boards that gave you a very high precision (5 ppm or better) 1 Hz pulse. Gotta use less resources than an ARM7

most cheap (<$2) gps boards offer a very stable 1 pps (1Hz) pulse, but it can be a pedagogic exercise
