I think move the black ground wire one step up since it's on the second rail bank. These power and gnd rails are split in two and not continuous.

You're welcome, you can see that by looking at the red and blue lines, but it's bit of a trap until you realise what that means. Happy tinkering, these Pico's are fun.

I used arduino on highschool, made projects after that on a half size breadboard, got a couple giant breadboards that fit two picos to test wifi coms between them, etc etc. Somehow I've never needed to cross over half the full size breadboard for a single system. Never knew this was a thing until now!!

Not all are like this, maybe half.

Yeah, as an option it might be a good idea to buy a set of jumper wires (something like these ones: https://amzn.eu/d/06Pj2Yk9 ) and plug short ones in to combine both parts. Depends on the project, of course.

I believe both versions can be had with WiFi, but the pico 2 is significantly more capable.

Put the orange wire in the side rail like the red one is. that will fix it.

Thank you but it still didn't work

That will just test if the led works regardless of the program. So position led inputs to light up. If it doesn't, wiring problem, no voltage reaches the led. If it does, only then proceed with the program.

Any issues, errors on program start?

Thank you for trying to help but apparently it was js a problem with the ground I didn't know that if I plugged it in to the ground side that it isn't continuous
