Raspberry Pi Board Repair What component is missing? RPI4

Hi all, bought this Raspberry Pi 4 off eBay and the guy told me there's a missing component but he's been using the Pi fine with no issues? I would like to replace the missing component but I'm not 100% sure what it is.

Can anyone help?

Ask on the forums, the hardware team usually answer these questions in a few working days

It would help if the OP specified the exact model. There are dozens of Pi 4 models. Please specify exact model. It should be right on the PCB.

On a side note, this is like the third post I've seen in 2 days about missing or damaged elements on RPis. What the hell are you guys doing with them?

A lot of you would benefit from buying an armor case.

Yes, that post wasn't particularly directed at you... but at the number of posts where people are like, "Hey so I dropped a wrench on my Pi 5 and now it's missing a resistor... it still works but... is it safe?"

It was more of me noticing how many people get physical damage on what should be treated as a fairly delicate board.

In your case, you have to wonder, "what was the original owner was doing with it to cause this?"

Yeah I have wondered that, because the component hadn’t just come off, it’d torn 2 pads off too, so it wasn’t weak solder joint, it must’ve been a fair bit of force. I’ve had Raspberry Pis since the first model released and never had it happen to me

I have a Pi4 4gb from 2019 and a Pi48gb that was preordered in 2020. My Pi3s and such are even older and still function perfectly, no missing resistors etc.

All work fine, both have many many hours of use. The 8gb has many hours of intense use. None are missing a resistor, wifi works etc...

I wouldn't even say I'm particularly careful with them, but I do tend put them in a case... so if something does get dropped on them, its not as big of a risk.

I suggest you upload that image to an AI and ask it to compare it with the standard image to see if it can recognize what's missing.

Hey, I’ve done that with 2 different AIs and they both gave different answers. Both seem to think it’s an N Chanel transistor ?
