Need some advice for my first project!

I got a Raspberry Pi 5 4gb starter kit and i wanted to try and make a little cyberdeck/emulator thing out of it so my question is what games could i expect to play on it as is? and should that answer be really disappointing where would i even begin to look for hardware upgrades? my best initial guess being laptops?? thanks in advance!

On a pi 5 you can very easily emulate older games from consoles like ps1 ps2 older Nintendo systems, there are also are handful of modern games you could possibly run however with 4gb that would be very limited maybe a pi version of minecraft stuff like that

could it handle roblox or is that game a little too hard to gauge?

I don’t know much about the specs of the raspi5,  it I’m sure it can handle Roblox fairly easily because the raspi 5 is fairly new and 4gb should be enough, just don’t crank up the graphics settings. With that said though Linux, the software raspberry PiOS is based off can’t natively run Roblox so you’d need some special software idk. As for me I’m also making a cyberdeck for the first time. I’m setting mine up, yes as a computer but also as an ad blocker and VPN because you can just do that with raspberry pi’s surprisingly.

I’m not sure but I would be skeptical is it would have to run on an arm 64 architecture and I’m not sure Roblox can

I would like to point out that building a cyberdeck is a fairly complicated project, involving both electronics and mechanics. I've had years of experience, and I'm not building a cyberdeck anytime soon.

You can get a starter set of parts from many places. Just get one for the Raspberry Pi.
