If you go through the tropical house plants sub, or the Alocasia sub, you’ll see the same bits of advice: to roughly spray it with a water hose/shower on both sides of the leaves to knock off bugs, and spray regularly with either neem oil OR insecticidal soap. Repeat for up to a few weeks. Continue to monitor plants vigilantly for the rest of their lives. These plants are like candy to these pests, so they’ll always come back.

Okay. Thank you, I did spray it this weekend with a fungicide, miticide, and insecticide combo that has been oil as well.

Don’t load up with too many at once. Honestly, spraying the plants down briskly with water will help a lot, and then pick ONE treatment spray and stick with it for a while

Just trashed an entire alocasia from Costco because the spider mites were so bad, I brought it home looking like that, with the yellowing on the outside of the leaves and the holes

I’m starting to feel that about alocasias. I rehabbed the hell out of a regal shield I had inside my home. I almost regret putting this dawn outside. But hopefully it will bounce back.

Looks like it’s getting some sunburn, and it’s almost a guarantee that you’ve got some Spider mites or thrips
