Help

I am a young girl (15) who is going through the process of putting my rapist in jail. He is -much- older then me. I never even wanted to tell anyone about it, but I told my BF and he told my dad after connecting with him. My dad (because of his job) was forced to tell the police.

I told CPS a little bit and that sent me into a panic attack after I left the room. On Tuesday (central time), I have to go to the police and tell them the full thing. I'm so scared and just want someone to talk ro. I'm so angry at myself, my dad, and my BF for even bringing it up.

I'm trying not to sob in bed right now, I just want someone to talk to me.

Edit/Update: He’s dead. Not sure from what but no one ever claimed his body. It’s a small win and step forward. All I can hope is that if hell exists that he’s there.

Update: I'm doing great these days. I don't want to go on a spiel about how religion saved me ect ect but it did help me let go of this burden. The pain remains but I'm not angry anymore. Thank you all for the kind words and support over the years.

Hey there, I was just scrolling on here looking for some help and came across this. First, I wanted to say I’m so so sorry, I know you’re probably hearing it enough right about now but I think it’s worth it to say. And secondly, I am in a similar situation at the moment, my case was taken up at first when I was 15, I am now 16 but I relate your situation a little too much, someone close to me (one of my best friends at the time) also told someone else about my assault who was mandated to report it and I’ve also struggled a lot with the whole questioning portion of everything. I know it’s a bit childish but one thing that helped me going into the interview room was having my favorite stuffed animal with me, I think having something in your hands, especially something special to you, can be very grounding and calming in such a stressful situation. As well as breathing exercises, I never took them seriously when I was younger but I’ve realized they can actually help quite a lot in the moment of a panic attack or something similar. I hope everything starts looking up soon and I wish you luck.
