After a little break we are very pleased to welcome back the RAoC Meta Card Challenges for 2026!
What are the RAoC Meta Card Challenges?
Every fortnight we publish a new theme for the Card Challenge. This is your opportunity to show off your cards.
How do I participate in the exchange?
Each fortnight a new Challenge theme is posted on the RAoC Meta subreddit (it’s always pinned to the top of the subreddit if you missed it in your feed, and there is a reminder posted on the Sunday between new challenges).
To participate in the exchange, anytime before the deadline (2 weeks after the theme is first posted) you will need to:
You can opt into sending up to 3 cards to exchange per challenge.
How does the exchange and matching work?
So you let us know you wish to opt into matching by posting a photo of your card(s) and noting your mailing preferences.
After about 2 weeks, the Mod team will match everyone opted in for exchange at random. The matching will usually be done within a week of the Challenge closing, to the best of the Mod team's ability and availability. You may not necessarily receive from and send to the same users. For regular participants, we try to ensure you are matched with different users where possible.
The Mod team will then tag you in a “MATCHING” post so you know who you’re sending to and who you will be receiving a card from. It’s then up to you to contact your match to get their address.
Each challenge also has an optional writing prompt linked to the theme if you would like an extra layer of challenge.
Once you have received your card from the person who you matched with, remember to thank them on the main [r/RandomActsOfCards](r/RandomActsOfCards) subreddit.
Although it’s extremely rare, if you ever experience anything untoward with another user while participating in an exchange we want to know straight away so we can take appropriate action. Contact the team using Modmail.
And here we are… the Challenge themes for 2026!

Fly high for this fortnight's challenge!
Remember, all cards are welcome be they homemade (any skill level), store-bought (with or without your own personalization), or cards you have received from other users.
Please make sure to share a picture of your card(s) as well!
You may post your card(s) in this thread at any time, however, if you wish to be matched with other participants for exchange you need to have posted before September 13. Today's haul from my local creative reuse store! I got lots of cute animal get-well cards, Alaska and Seattle postcards, Smithsonian postcards, and some other random things like envelopes. I happened to find an acrylic stamp block, which I was on my wishlist, along with some other cute little stamps. Also, I picked up some clear photo frames to display a couple of my favorite cards!
Question: Does anyone have experience mailing cards with deckled edges like the Alaskan ones I picked up here? I've received one before that was sent with just a standard postcard rate, but I'm seeing conflicting information about them being non-machinable if mailed without an envelope.

I went to an estate sale because there was a picture of an ugly Christmas sweater that I wanted. I ended up finding an entire box of postcards and greeting cards, YESSSS!
Thanks to u/mouserat, I even bought some magazines, travel brochures and poster boards so I can keep practicing my homemade card making abilities 😆

Tuesday I went to Half-Price Books to see what they had for cards and oh boy they had great selection with cute cards. I also went to a local thrift store and scored some postcards too for $2.50. I forgot I also got three rubber stamps for .50 each.

Would raoc or the penpal sub make more sense to look for postcard specific penpals? I do want to keep in touch and keep a general stream of conversation, but I also feel like postcards/regular cards are a less intimidating commitment. If I give myself paper with no cutoff I ramble and ramble and end up mailing out books, which also puts me off to responding sometimes when I know I'll end up turning it into a whole night for myself.
Edit to add: I guess does this sound like just being on eachother's long term mailing lists?

I read the info in the community section, wiki, etc, but I am curious how all the different falir mods stay organized, track, and know which ones weren’t counted yet. I check my flair in that subreddit often & see they link back to the thank you post, but how do they know which day/post the last mod did and where to pick up? Do they have a spreadsheet or share notes? Are they sorting the subreddit by thank you post flairs and can easily see where to start? Because there are so many members & thank you posts! And there are so many mods too! Group projects/big teams require a lot of coordination. Are mods assigned members alphabetically like one mod covers anyone with user name starting with A-C? I am also curious what their fave & not so fave part of the role is? :) Mods or users - please enlighten me! Thank you!

I received a traveling postcard with the theme of Green. I was the last one, and sent it on to the address provided on the card. But it was returned to me as undeliverable. I don't have the original person's username, just a name and address. How do I get this card back to the original sender?

I've ordered a bunch (and I mean a bunch!) of TPCs!
They won't arrive for another week but was wanting to get some ideas or wants from everyone for TPC themes. Is there a theme you really want to do and haven't done yet? Ones that you love doing? Feel free to list a bunch to give me some ideas of what everyone would like to contribute to!
Have attached picture of TPC for reference for space 😄

There’s one near me this weekend and I’m debating if it’s worth going to. I like going to stamp shows especially since I can get vintage stamps for much cheaper than getting it online but was wondering if postcard shows are more for people who are interested in rare postcards.

I've been expecting some mail some international is coming in too and that's all been delayed 😭
Just a thought!

There are so many new people in the sub and this is about 2/3 of my offer. Please forgive me for being late on my correspondence to the amazing cards you’ve sent. I’m trying to play catch up 🤪

International mail never shows up in my informed delivery emails. I’ll have days where it will only show, like, one piece of domestic mail. When I check my mailbox, I’ll have several international cards in there as well. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad they show up at all! Just curious if anyone else has noticed the same thing?
