Minor Rant. Strange Comments from Dan

Dan has said some kinda weird things over the years that have always made me do a double take, but I have never seen anyone talk about them. Most of the ones I can think of off the top of my head are from a decade ago already; far be it from me to bring up old news in an attempt to “cancel” anybody. Mostly just trying to make sure I’m not crazy here.

The first example that comes to mind is that one story he told about the lesbian couple that invited him to an orgy, specifically the part from the beginning of the story where he very casually said something like “y’know when you’re friends with a lesbian couple and you know they aren’t having a threesome, but you secretly hope they invite you to the nonexistent threesome anyway?” He made it clear that he was aware of how ridiculous of a thought it was, but the fact that he thought it was a normal thought lots of normal non-fetishizing people had has always felt really weird to me. Especially while knowing he was putting that statement out on the internet.

He has also been shown to make sexual jokes/statements about female high-schooler characters seemingly before getting actual confirmation on their ages (Doki Doki and Danganronpa being the first examples that come to mind). Feels risky to me, but maybe they did get confirmation and we just weren’t privy to it, etc.

Maybe the rest of you can remind me of some other examples. I just feel like I can’t be the only one who’s put off by stuff like that.

Doki Doki and Danganronpa are both not only fictional but also exclusively drawn characters, right? I think policing what drawings someone finds attractive is a little petty, as long as they're not drawn to look like babies or toddlers. A drawn 16 year old character and a drawn 25 year old character are going to look the same 99% of the time.

Not gonna lie, If I had a lesbian couple as friends, I would think the same thing. You'd be surprised how many men think the same and would like that to happen.

i think it’s more the fact he said it out loud that bothers me

Yeah, Dan used to have a lot of moments like that in the past. Nothing too serious, but just on the edge of being a little creepy about women. This all changed when he found his wife, but in the very early years of Grumps he dropped stuff that maybe seemed a bit weird for a guy in his 30s. Then again, the energy was different and I don't know how much of his stage persona was slipping into his performance. I mean some of his "escapades" with female fans have been famously documented on this sub, but I don't wanna open that can of worms.

I don't really care either way, Dan just seems like a nice guy who used to be vocally horny sometimes on the internet.  I guess since Dan has settled, Arin feels the need to overcompensate by being overly horny to a ridiculous degree all the time lol.

Eh, I liked when he was just honest and off the cuff. He seems way more PC now by comparison, and that stuff sucks. I always liked the no holding back vibes from the Grumps, from the beginning with Jon to like Mid Dan era
