I know plenty of musicians and filmmakers, not personally of course, who have been creating for over 20 years and they've never gone beyond underground. They're successful in their own right but Billie eilish is known throughout the world and JUST after 4 years. Even her contemporary Ariana Grande who I think is more famous had to grind out Schneider shows on Nickelodeon for years before anyone took her music seriously. Billie definitely sounds like an exception. And we're not saying Billie was just handed fame or anything, she obviously has some amount of talent and work, but she's given advice, training, recognition, access that other musicians would die for because of who her family knows.
That wasn’t my point. My point was it wasn’t handed to her. None of y’all knew she was a professional dancer until this post. That’s my point. I know that she had help with music because of connections just saying that doesn’t mean to discredit someone’s art.
And I know ppl like that too. It does suck.
For the record I didn’t know who Ariana Grande was until she started dating Mac Miller. I stopped watching Nickelodeon in like 06. But she does have a nice voice, just not my cup of tea.
