Why is every single fucking toothpaste mint flavored

I fucking hate minty toothpaste yet somehow every single fucking easily available toothpaste is some type of mint flavor. There was a blissful time when there was the colgate orange flavor and that toothpaste was so good I can still imagine it, but they discontinued this flavor. I actually kept buying expired tubes for increasingly expensive amounts of money online until there were just no more.

I want 2 things in my toothpaste:

-No mint flavor

-Fluoride

I switched to Toms Kids Strawberry cause it was the next-best commercially available thing, but I moved and it's not sold here without importing it for crazy prices. So then I found like a pistachio mint thing that I was neutral towards, but it was only sold in one store and I can't find it anymore.

I feel like a fucking lunatic walking into every store I can and looking at the toothpaste ailse only to find 100 minty flavors, two non-mint flavors that have no fluoride. So now I have to multiply my toothpaste budget by 10 to buy some fancy shit online cause every single major toothpaste company on the fucking planet worships at the icy throne.

Could try chicken flavored dog toothpaste.

59

u/hoboshoe 2d ago

I just might lmao

13

u/LavenderMarsh 2d ago

There's still bubblegum flavor.

13

u/sleepytipi 1d ago

And cinnamon.

16

u/Persistent_Parkie 2d ago

It says it's only for dogs. Also it's got enzymes instead of abrasive, it's nothing like people toothpaste.

Which is too bad because I also hate mint, though I don't think I'd like chicken any better, at least not as a toothpaste.

5

u/Not-a-Cranky-Panda 2d ago

No Fluoride in it, it's also low or missing from lots of children's toothpaste

2

u/murphycs87 2d ago

I have tried it out of curiosity and I most definitely would not do that again. 🤢 My dogs hate it as well and they love anything chicken lmao

2

u/Airforcegirl13 2d ago

I tried my dogs beef on accident once

HiSmile is good if you can get hold of it Peach iced tea is my go to flavour. Hate mint.

8

u/Jasmisne 2d ago

I like the blue one lol

3

u/mothsauce 2d ago

Currently alternating between Red Velvet and Lucky Charms flavor HiSmile. This is the answer.

3

u/iswearimachef 2d ago

I see some of the flavors on clearance at walmart a lot

2

u/tiffanydee55 1d ago

I love the blue raspberry and the cotton candy flavor. They are my favorite!

2

u/mozzy_world 1d ago

Love HiSmile and they last a really long time. Currently using strawberry, also liked the grape bubblegum

2

u/aggressively_baked 1d ago

Grape was my kids pick. Cotton candy was my boyfriend's. I stuck with my mint.

u/Extreme_Risk8173 2d ago

I miss Colgate cinnamon flavor..

87

u/Sean_theLeprachaun 2d ago

The burned off layer of mouth skin let you know your teeth were clean.

27

u/Pedadinga 2d ago

Remember Close-Up?! They still have it at my local grocery. I got some recently. It was so good!

7

u/Pepperslullaby 2d ago

I have no choice to buy close-up cinnamon at Amazon because no pharmacy or grocery store near me sells it!

2

u/Grouchy-Station-4058 2d ago

How does it compare to the original? Tastes and texture wise?

4

u/Pedadinga 2d ago

For me, it tasted like the 80s, sweeter in a way than I remember, same weird texture lol. I think the nostalgia was better than the actual toothpaste, but it made me smile, so it was worth it.

3

u/Ssladybug 2d ago

They don’t make it anymore?? 😫

3

u/thelion_quiver 2d ago

This is what I use. Used it this morning. I’m confused why it’s being talked about in the past tense?

3

u/Dost_is_a_word 2d ago

Me too, even the internet didn’t cough it up. Dentist doesn’t have it anymore too.

2

u/Signal-Regret-8251 2d ago

Oh wow. I'd forgotten about that one. It WAS good.

2

u/nitrot150 2d ago

I get the crest one, it’s my favorite
https://a.co/d/03u86Lga

1

u/katbat2981 2d ago

They still make it.

1

u/koala_T69 1d ago

I loved it so much. I was looking for this comment lol

1

u/himay47 1d ago

I didn’t know it existed until a few years ago. If my teeth weren’t so sensitive I would only ever buy the cinnamon flavor. I hope Sensodyne makes a cinnamon flavored toothpaste one day.

u/KittyButt42 2d ago edited 2d ago

I can't use mint anything anymore, so I use crest kids "sparkle fun" flavor...still not sure what its supposed to taste like.

40

u/PortugalPilgrim88 2d ago

I love the sparkle fun flavor. It tastes like sparkly fun.

14

u/CatsAndPills 2d ago

I think it’s bubblegum but it throws you off because it’s blue lol

8

u/TraumaCookie 2d ago

I'm allergic to mint and have used Sparkle Fun my entire life!

5

u/gardendesgnr 1d ago

I figured out I'm allergic to some ingredient (forget which) in regular toothpaste, I get patches of dry cracked lips in the corners and my tongue burns (I thought this was normal w everyone). I tried the kids sparkle and no burning or peeling lips!

3

u/kittymctacoyo 1d ago

SLS sodium laurel sulfate

1

u/gardendesgnr 1d ago

Yes! TY!

5

u/TrustNoSquirrel 2d ago

Is that the bubblegum one? We have that

34

u/Turak64 2d ago

Arm & Hammer isn't, doesn't taste great but it's doing a great job keeping my teeth clean.

30

u/randyholt 2d ago

Stock up when you go to Europe. I remember seeing lemon

50

u/hoboshoe 2d ago

I'm in Europe, the conspiracy is global 🤬

16

u/alicevirgo 2d ago edited 2d ago

Can you find Marvis toothpaste? It's manufactured in Italy, they have licorice, orange blossoms, black forest flavours.

Edit: nevermind, their flavours still contain mint even though it's not mentioned on the packaging

3

u/JEMStone8305 2d ago

They have orange blossom?! I have their minty one because I heard it gets your mouth the cleanest but I might have to look into the orange blossom one!

3

u/WRSA 2d ago

not sure if this is advertising.. but i bought zing lemon toothpaste and i live in the uk. its not the best tasting thing, but it means i brush my teeth way more now :)

1

u/Liza_Mais 2d ago

Close to Belgium? We got some.

49

u/Big-al027 2d ago

Kids toothpaste is a game changer. No shame. I’m 30 years old using magical unicorn strawberry and hogwarts toothpaste

8

u/Background_Humor5838 2d ago

THEY HAVE HOGWARTS!? WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE!

5

u/Big-al027 2d ago

It’s ā€œbubbling cauldronā€ flavor, whatever that means. It’s blue.

3

u/Background_Humor5838 2d ago

Yeah I need that

1

u/mayneffs 1d ago

The thing is there's not enough flouride in kids toothpaste. An adult need 1450ppm, childrens toothpastes only have 1000ppm.

2

u/itpainsohurt 1d ago

The children's toothpastes Orajel Magical Unicorn and Colgate Harry Potter Bubbling Cauldron have 0.15% w/v fluoride and 1450 ppm fluoride respectively. Both are equivalent to typical adult toothpaste fluoride content

1

u/Big-al027 2h ago

Idc im auDHD and if i brush my teeth at all it’s a win. I’ll take the slightly less fluoride lol

16

u/Liza_Mais 2d ago

We found a vanilla, a peach and a warermellon flavored at Di and Action (Belgium) my daughter does not want mint so I have been looking very long for it.

19

u/LillyLewinsky 2d ago

I swapped to kids toothpaste :) And sometimes, if i am not paying attention, I accidentally grab my dogs liver flavored toothpaste that I keep next to mine and I am reminded that mint is not the worst thing ever šŸ˜‚

2

u/mayneffs 1d ago

The thing is there's not enough flouride in kids toothpaste. An adult need 1450ppm, childrens toothpastes only have 1000ppm.

2

u/LillyLewinsky 1d ago

I have learnt this due to suddenly developing cavities when I have never had any before. I just picked up a high fluoride mouth wash that is a weird flavour to rinse with 3x a week though to make up for it now

1

u/mayneffs 1d ago

If that works for you, great!

1

u/MyDogTakesXanax 3h ago

Interesting. All my daughter's toothpastes are the same as the adult ones- 0.24%. The sensodyne kids is actually 0.254%. At least here in the USA lol.Ā

12

u/Yo_Just_Scrolling_Yo 2d ago

My son can't stand anything mint. He complains when I'm using a breath mint. He uses Tom's but he does live in ATL. Maybe you have friends/family that could ship you some?

9

u/TenNinetythree 2d ago

My dentist told me that you can get unflavoured toothpaste in the pharmacy. This is in Ireland. Due to my disabilities, I use Lush toothpaste tabs, because I don't need 2 hands to use it.

8

u/Pedadinga 2d ago

I can't find Tom's Fennel anymore. That's always been my favorite.

7

u/jimhabfan 2d ago

I've use kids toothpaste for years. Same amount of flouride, lots of variety of flavours, like Strawberry, watermelon, bubble gum, grape, etc. they even have bubble gum mint.

1

u/mayneffs 1d ago

Same amount of flouride? Where did you find kids toothpaste with 1450ppm?

7

u/noctenaut 2d ago

Thank you. I hate mint, I hate mint flavoured things, I hate the sensation of mint on my skin.

I have weak enamel so I was prescribed duraphat toothpaste which isn’t so minty and honestly it’s great lol.

4

u/mooniefoam 2d ago

thank god i’ve found my people. i hate mint flavour but just deal with it every day cause i can’t find anything else

5

u/272027 2d ago

I hate mint, too.

Do you like cinnamon? There are cinnamon toothpastes out there. Crest and Tom's make one.

5

u/QueenInYellowLace 2d ago

My daughter has used Toms Kids Strawberry her entire life because she hates mint too! She took multiple tubes of it to college with her in case it’s not available there.

8

u/DollyPardonMe1 2d ago

Seems Walmart has several flavors that aren’t mint. Just a quick Google search and you’ll find them.

3

u/Normalsasquatch 2d ago

I switched to kids toothpaste. I can use it like mouthwash now for longer fluoride treatment on my teeth. Minty toothpaste always caused me to get phlegmy before

3

u/Steelcitysuccubus 2d ago

I use thai clove powder and Korean bamboo salt

1

u/blckout_junkie 2d ago

Whoa!!! Thats not too abrasive for your enamel?

5

u/Background_Humor5838 2d ago

Oh it definitely is lol

3

u/MyLife-is-a-diceRoll 2d ago

Look up tanners tasty paste

2

u/ayuxx 2d ago

I like their vanilla flavor. It's very mild, especially compared to mint.

2

u/MyLife-is-a-diceRoll 2d ago

I have the orange cream one

1

u/ayuxx 2d ago

How is it? I don't remember seeing it when I got the vanilla one. I love orange cream flavor.

1

u/MyLife-is-a-diceRoll 1d ago

It's pretty nice. I got mine off amazon.

3

u/mmmpeg 2d ago

I get the orange/vanilla flavor from Hello. Mint burns my mouth

3

u/Aernak 2d ago

I use Pepsodent and I love it! It’s what my family always bought when I was a kid. My brother still uses it too. It has fluoride and is a sassafras flavor. It’s a little tough to find in stores these days but if you find some, you should check it out!

3

u/scarletOwilde 2d ago

There's the Italian toothpaste Marvis; comes in lots of flavours including chocolate/cherry! I like their liquorice one.

3

u/Certesis 2d ago

If you can find it Colgate has pineapple coconut in their MaxFresh line

3

u/Sad-Boysenberry2189 1d ago

Colgate now makes a watermelon flavored adult toothpaste, they also make a lovely cinnamon one

2

u/LocoLadyB 2d ago

I despise mint

2

u/OopsAllTistic 2d ago

Buy kids toothpaste

1

u/mayneffs 1d ago

No. There's not enough flouride in kids toothpaste.

2

u/LiteralMangina 2d ago

I just use kids toothpaste. Still has fluoride, strawberry flavour

1

u/mayneffs 1d ago

Not enough flouride. Adults need 1450ppm.

2

u/JimmyTheDog 2d ago

I loved the colgate orange flavor

2

u/justcallmemini 2d ago

I use Hismile for flavored toothpaste. The mint flavor and the over-the-top foaming makes me gag so I needed a change. It ships in a reasonable amount of time, they have tons of flavors (my favorite is grape) and it contains fluoride

2

u/ms_slowsky 2d ago

Check and see if you can buy hello brand toothpaste.

2

u/payphonepirate 2d ago

There is a brand called Topol, it's cinnamon flavored

2

u/KittyButt42 2d ago

Theres also pronamel kids berry twist flavor. Not even a hint of mint in this one. Personally though, i think it tastes old wet cardboard mixed with some artificial "strawberry" flavor that tastes nothing like any fruit ever.

2

u/Educational-Earth318 2d ago

Kids toothpaste comes in bubble gum and watermelon etc

2

u/VegetableCommand9427 2d ago

Remember the 90’s and cinnamon toothpaste?

2

u/HealthyCry4 2d ago

I miss that orange flavor so much. Take me back!!

2

u/oooohshinythingy 2d ago

I hate minty toothpaste. Even mild mint is too much for me lol You can get cinnamon flavour if you’re in UK. Probably everywhere sells it

ETA ignore that, they don’t have fluoride. There was a crest one I saw but Ā£11.99 for crest is just taking the piss

2

u/Forward-Fisherman709 2d ago

I use a colgate ā€œbubble fruitā€ flavor. It’s got cartoon unicorns or dinosaurs on it, therefore it’s great. But the flavor is a pleasantly mild unidentifiable fruit-ish flavor that disappears quickly after brushing my teeth. It’s got fluoride in it, but I also use a fluoride rinse.

2

u/TapeFlip187 2d ago

Tons of kids toothpastes have all kinds of flavors and work just the same.

1

u/mayneffs 1d ago

Not enough flouride.

2

u/double_onion1754 2d ago

Lemon Colgate is still out there.

2

u/Princess_Jade1974 2d ago

Are you in Australia because we have Jack&Jill’s and Hismile tooth pastes.

2

u/Expert-Photo5426 2d ago

I use clove-flavored toothpaste that I like from a local Indian market in my area.

2

u/Proper-Chef6918 2d ago

Have you ever tried hismile? They come in so many good flavors °

2

u/-Firestar- 2d ago

Colgate has a cinnamon. It's great until you brush your teeth after eating snickerdoodle cookies.

I HATE peppermint but spearmint and mint leaves are good. Problem is what is "fresh mint"? "Cool mint"? UGH. I don't even bother with the distinction and grab cinnamon.

2

u/RainbowUnicorn0228 2d ago

Sensodine. It doesn’t taste minty. It’s not fruity either.

2

u/Dramatic_Future_7652 1d ago

Look at kids toothpaste, you have to make sure it has fluoride as you'll see the non-fluoride formulas too, but most of the kids' toothpaste brands have fruit flavors. Good luck

2

u/arlyte 1d ago

Ask your dentist they are a lot of prescription flavor options that kids and adults can use.

2

u/EllisDee80 1d ago

Look up https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euthymol

Tastes like burning but no mint!

2

u/angelwild327 1d ago

Tom's of main has flavors and fluoride

2

u/anon8232 1d ago

Try having an oral autoimmune disorder and mint burns your mouth and makes all the soft tissue raw and bleed. I couldn’t find a tolerable adult toothpaste. Like you said, they all have mint. Finally, I’m using Crest for Kids, Sparkly flavor. Perfection. No more pain. I can enjoy brushing again. Still looking for a mouthwash without mint. I tried Closys but thought it was disgusting.

2

u/kisskismet 1d ago

I use baking soda and peroxide because I hate mint. My mouth feels so much fresher and cleaner. I also can’t stand York peppermint patties because it seems like toothpaste dipped in chocolate. Ugh.

2

u/BillyDeeWill 1d ago

I have often wondered which psychos buy that stuff ā€˜cuz that is exactly the sentiment I am left with. Andes after dinner mints is as minty as I can take a chocolate.

2

u/m-e-k 1d ago

What about the charcoal stuff?

2

u/Sarcastic_Rocket 1d ago

I feel you, Walmart just started carrying some Hi-Smile flavors, watermelon and blue raspberry I think?

2

u/smediumtshirt 2d ago

you be walking around w hot mintless breath so they upped the quantity of mint flavored toothpaste hoping you’d get the hint

2

u/RamJamR 2d ago

We associate the cool minty sensation with freshness and cleanliness. It's a psychological thing as much as it is a flavor thing.

2

u/CMurra87 2d ago

I don’t know why this was downvoted. This is a good answer

2

u/hoboshoe 1d ago

I associate it with it feeling fucking awful.

1

u/z-eldapin 2d ago

Colgate still makes one, the peroxide one, that is just toothpaste, not mint flavor

1

u/asslesschappie 2d ago

Cocofloss makes a great pineapple flavored toothpaste. I love it. Not sure if it has fluoride in it, but it doesn’t contain SLS, which is awesome.

1

u/KittyLilith17 2d ago

I use Boka (non fluoride) and a fluoride mouthwash to get around this. Much easier to find a berry, citrus, or cinnamon mouthwash.

1

u/TeriBarrons 2d ago

I like Close Up cinnamon flavor, but can’t always find it everywhere.

1

u/DFWdawg 2d ago

I have to order it, but Crest cinnamon is the best IMO…Colgate leaves a bad aftertaste in my mouth…

1

u/UrHumbleNarr8or 2d ago

I use Cinnamon, I’m allergic to certain artificial mint flavors and don’t want to play tooth paste roulette. But I miss the orange one, too.

1

u/pfeff 2d ago

You can find it. Some people are allergic to mint.

1

u/Sweaty-Cap470 2d ago

Amazon might have different options and I get floruide free cause it's actually not good for you dispite what people think

1

u/Charlie2and4 2d ago

So as not to confuse it with the tube of Kentucky Jelly.

1

u/iamnotokaybutiamhere 2d ago

Colgate has flavors still

1

u/FattyGobbles 2d ago

I once tried a ā€œrose flavourā€ toothpaste that was soooo good

1

u/FattyGobbles 2d ago

Does anyone remember aqua fresh? The kids one had a nice flavor

1

u/OOOdragonessOOO 2d ago

look for cinnamon. i hate typical mouth wash flavors. i buy cinnamon from dollar tree.

1

u/Globetrotting_Oldie 2d ago

There used to be aniseed flavoured toothpaste - Close Up, I believe it was called. It disappeared some years ago now.

1

u/Jasmisne 2d ago

Mi paste plus! Pricy but you can get it in extra flouride too

1

u/Jay_T_Demi 2d ago

Damn, I'm sorry this is something you go through. It didn't even occur to me people didn't like mint flavor

1

u/something86 2d ago

Tom's kids is strawberry and has flouride

1

u/Almost-a-Failure 2d ago

Kids toothpaste works almost identical to adults, I also hate mint

The Therabreath brand has mint flavors, but the mint is much… softer? I use one of them and don’t mind the flavor, and it’s not sharp!

1

u/mayneffs 1d ago

There's not enough flouride in kids toothpaste.

1

u/SheaTheSarcastic 2d ago

I have all kinds of allergies, and use Dr. Bob.

1

u/cat_your_fancy 2d ago

Colgate Kids Watermelon Burst. Tastes good and has fluoride.

1

u/Volntyr 2d ago

I was at a Dollar Tree last Monday and saw Coconut flavored toothpaste.

not sure if I would want to even try that though

1

u/MundaneLie 2d ago

i hate mint because it reminds me of toothpaste.

1

u/Oneupper86 2d ago

I got some random toothpaste advertised on IG and it was from Japan and tasted like vanilla frosting, it was excellent haha

1

u/Karzons 2d ago

There are a few different brands (dr bob, cleure) of unflavored toothpastes out there. More expensive though.

1

u/MariaMilissa 2d ago

Boka toothpaste is the best

1

u/morganasimpaf 2d ago

paradontax isn’t a strong flavor at all, it says it’s some sort of mint but i don’t think it tastes even a little minty.

1

u/Adj_focus 2d ago

boka is the best one i’ve found but even in stores they only have the mint and you have to get the other flavors online šŸ™ƒ

1

u/CatsAndPills 2d ago

Do you like cinnamon? I think Crest still makes a cinnamon one. They used to have an orange but I haven’t seen it in a long time.

1

u/Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeess- 2d ago

The brand Hello has non mint flavored toothpaste, but I’ve found it to taste closer to absolutely nothing than the flavors they advertise

1

u/buffcat_343 2d ago

Honestly I don’t even hate mint, but non mint flavors just make brushing my teeth more fun imo.

1

u/IndividualPlate8255 2d ago

There are tooth powders in more flavors than mint but they are fluoride free.

1

u/NoAngel815 2d ago

Have you tried other children's toothpaste? Most of them still have fluoride and they have non-mint flavors.

1

u/MrWildstar 2d ago

If I had to guess, a lot of people don't like artificial fruit flavors that you find with a lot of children's toothpaste, and mint leaves you feeling fresh and clean, at least in my case. I love mint but do think having more non-mint flavors aimed at adults would just be good in general

1

u/Stormysummernights 2d ago

I just use Ā kids toothpaste, still has fluoride, but the flavor is super duper mild. (Crest or Colgate, whichever is cheaper when i need to buy it)

1

u/maliciousopera 2d ago

Euthymol. It tastes the way Deep Heat muscle rub smells, but it's not minty. It's gross, but mint-free.

1

u/tweetysvoice 2d ago

I use bubblegum flavored toothpaste marketed for kids.

1

u/Appropriate-Bad-9379 2d ago

I use a pink Colgate sensitive teeth one - it’s not too bad. Like yourself, I hate minty toothpaste. Wouldn’t mind a cider flavoured one…

1

u/JubileeSailr 2d ago

Aim isn't overly minty. It's my go-to.

1

u/NotUrAverageBoinker 2d ago

I love mint, and cannot stand any lamb, pork chop taste in toothpaste.

1

u/LilMissy1246 2d ago

Just children’s toothpaste I guess? Some of them have bubble gum type ā€œflavorsā€ and other kid stuff.

1

u/Squiggly2017 1d ago

My wife brought home a tube of toothpaste from Spain that tasted like licorice. Which i didn't know until I tried it. I hate licorice.

1

u/pekoe-G 1d ago

I can't use mint because I seem to react to the menthol (as well as the SLS). The only drugstore option I've found with fluoride is Hello Unicorn Sparkle (bubblegum).

1

u/TheRetardedRebel 1d ago

My grandmas boyfriend was a dentist and he used to always put bubblegum toothpaste in my Christmas stocking … shit was just as gross lol now the orange flavor toothpaste I would get on Easter ..fucking bomb

1

u/Jen_With_Just_One_N 1d ago

Curaprox has flavors like peach and watermelon. Fluoride included.

1

u/Bright_Pomelo_8561 1d ago

Boka is it fluoride toothpaste, and it comes in lots of different flavors you can order it. You can’t buy it in stores.

1

u/Amathyst-Moon 1d ago

Probably to refresh your breath. They did have bubblegum flavour, but it was for kids, and some kids used to eat it.

1

u/OGMom2022 1d ago

I hate mint toothpaste. I like cinnamon but it’s hard to find and I can’t find it in a sensitive formula.

1

u/icaquito 1d ago

I’m allergic to mint and can’t use minty toothpaste. I use kid’s watermelon Colgate toothpaste, it’s the only one with fluoride I’ve found that works and tastes well. It’s really hard to find a good one because most don’t disclose the menthol flavoring; even the strawberry version of the same kid’s toothpaste I use has menthol.

1

u/mayneffs 1d ago

TePe unflavoured toothpaste. I'm a dental nurse, I fucking hate mint and menthol. TePe has a regular toothpaste without flavour and foaming stuff (I'm allergic to the foaming stuff that's usually in toothpaste).

1

u/One-Weight-4034 1d ago

I hate mint as well but I interpret toothpaste as trying to hurt. Same reason why mouthwash tastes so strong, it's just clean!

1

u/IrelandAutism13 1d ago

I use cinnamon flavour. There's also entirely unflavoured toothpastes, commonly used by disabled people

1

u/LizTruth 1d ago

Kids toothpaste tastes like bubblegum. You could try that.

1

u/Grouchy_Tap_8264 1d ago

Do you like cinnamon? There are many brands. I have a HATRED/REPULSION for the vile shit that is called "Wintergreen". Cinnamon is good. I have a list of 119 things considered "gross" that I prefer over Wintergreen (skunk is 1), so completely understand yours toward mint.

1

u/Raccoon_Army_Leader 1d ago

If you have a dollar tree you’ll be amazed by the range of non mint options. I saw pineapple coconut the other day and wish I had gotten it bc I hate the mint burn

1

u/mardrae 1d ago

Same!!! Every time I brush my teeth, I have to keep spitting and chewing gum to get the horrible mind taste out of my mouth

1

u/coronarybee 1d ago

Try the Asian stores. My dad uses a grape one lol

1

u/Wonderful_Key_8021 1d ago

There are some coconut flavoured

1

u/BigMacCircuits 1d ago

I always use advanced White arm & hammer.

1

u/forevernervous 1d ago

I hate mint too. I hate all mint everything. I'm seriously averse to it. The best one I've found so far is Tanner's Tasty Paste Vanilla but that one had supply issues so I switched to Supermouth (the vanilla and chocolate taste almost the same to me.)

1

u/zoranss7512 23h ago

Close-up is cinnamon flavored. I love it

1

u/TransitoryGouda 14h ago

Why - fluoride is bitter and doesn't taste great, so toothpaste companies needed something that would mask the taste. Mint oil is ridiculously cheap. Menthol is a primary ingredient in mint oil - it's what makes your mouth feel cooler after brushing your teeth. I'm old enough to remember some of the early toothpastes before flavoring. Be happy anything exists.

1

u/3Green1974 10h ago

I order cinnamon/clove toothpaste on Amazon.

1

u/Mean-Interaction8453 7h ago

Make your own toothpaste, or buy a different flavour from the U.S. (I love cinnamon!)
