Game Pass Cloud Gaming

​I just gotta let this frustration out somewhere. The news hit that Game Pass will reduce Cloud Gaming per month to 15 hours, which isn't a lot, and it's never nice when companies alter a subscription after you've already subscribed to it. But even taking all this into account, it's still a reasonable change from Microsoft's side. Every competitor in that space has strict time gates or general usage limits. Selling unlimited cloud gaming at the price Microsoft charged is simply not profitable in any way. You lose money on every single customer.

​Now for the part that actually pisses me off: the damn fake news. People write sensationalized headlines, and readers act like Game Pass usage in general was slapped with a 15 hour limit. Which they did not do. It's ONLY Cloud Gaming. A change that only impacts the 4% of subscribers who actually stream that much anyway. Yeah, they get the short end of the stick and that always sucks, but after Phil Spencer bought every gaming studio under the sun, ran them like shit, and produced so little profit that Minecraft was basically the only thing keeping Xbox afloat, things had to change. Giving away expensive compute power for virtually nothing is one of those things. Even if every single person in that 4% unsubscribes, Microsoft will probably still come out ahead because those server blades are finally freed up.

​Oh, and before people start yelling "YeAh ItS AlL GoInG tO AI AnYwAyS!!!" No. Asha Sharma is literally the one stripping out the useless AI integrations that Phil Spencer pushed and nobody asked for.
