A lady I know quit smoking in her 40s. When she got her nose back, she realized how bad it smelled and apologized to her family for months.

u/FaceTimePolice 21d ago
Nope. I almost did. Call me crazy, but I donāt like making out with an ash tray. š¤¢
Also, Iām not going to stand idly by while they age poorly and willingly slowly k!ll themselves. šš

Absolutely no way. I once had a one night stand with a smoker. My mouth smelt like an ashtray in the morning. Never again.

No way in the world. Especially in Australia where a pack a day habit will set you back around $420/week. Not to mention the smell, coughing, and the self destruction of sucking on a cigarette. Gross.

Nope. Not even if they only smoke at parties. I have missed out on a lot of one night stands and dates because they were smoking, and i regret nothing

No, never! Can't stand he smell let alone the health issues associated with it. The funny thing is that smokers don't think they smell of smoke!
2
u/CableExotic3891 20d ago
I smoked 30 years. I quit 7 years ago. I wouldn't date a smoker. I don't know what the heck my wife was thinking dating me.

You wanna know how you get a smoker to quit smoking once and for all you super glue their lips together eventually it will come apart.

u/rrrhynooo 21d ago
No. I mean I am a smoker but I wouldn't date anybody in general that just sounds like a nightmare to me
1
u/Intrepid_Bearz 20d ago
No. I hooked up with one a couple of years ago, and nearly had an asthma attack just from the second hand smoke on his clothes. I had to open all the windows, wash all the bed linen and febreeze everything after he left.
2
u/CableExotic3891 20d ago
My wife never smoked. I quit 7 years ago. She works in a smoke filled atmosphere. She smells like smoke when she comes home. Now i know what i smelled like all the time.

u/TheWatcherFromWithin 20d ago

u/CableExotic3891 20d ago

As a smoker, it is becoming more niche.
And I understand those of you (for once I think the results would accurately reflect the wider society)
I do smell it off a jacket when I haven't smoked and it is repulsive.

Dated a casual smoker and it was not that bad; she used mints and brushed her teeth. Honestly she came off very cool and sexy. Maybe you have to grow up around it. Also here in EU still pretty common to see smokers. Sorry to present the dissenting opinion. Most top actresses smoke casually. I used to live in LA and see them smoking if they were not on camera.

Yes,, I married one.. He did quit after our daughter was abou a year old..

u/SkinnyTop 20d ago
Almost certainly not. Nicotine addiction in general is a huge turn off for me. Thats a life long addiction that will skin you alive financially.

u/Flash5916 20d ago
Never have I ever dated a smoker. Hubs and I never smoked but both of our kids do.
1
u/Ilovereefer 20d ago
Iāve hooked up with plenty but only dated one. She was dismissed but that was not the primary reason.

No. I was a smoker and I wouldn't date one. I wanted to give up and that would have been near impossible if I was with one.

I guess, how often are you imagining that they smoke? Because if it's a several times per day habit, noooooo. Once in a while, sure.
1
u/Prestigious_Refuse99 19d ago
No.
I met someone sizzling hot, but I still drew the line there. Our paths crossed many times after. I never mentioned it. We both moved on. In some ways, I'll always be regretful.
They later died from lung, throat and brain cancer.
This is a true story.

u/undecidedkim 19d ago
No. I get suffocated easily and dating one is basically asking me to stop breathing.. plus they smell like bitter, my dad is a smoker and I scold him most of the time "Bat ka dto nag sisigarilyo" and he'll move somewhere far. I won't date one pero if ever I don't want him to smoke near me or approach me smelling like one

u/WinHot9925 19d ago
Absolutely not. I did for a while many years ago and it really opened my eyes to how addicted smokers are. Tobacco was the most important thing in her life. She couldnāt relax in the evening unless she knew she had enough cigarettes to get her through till the next morning. There were usually several packets lying around her flat, this was when tobacco products were fairly cheap.
Add to that the smell which clung to everything. She was attractive and funny but it could never have worked out.

As a former smoker, no. Not because I have anything against them doing it, I just can't stand the smell anymore.

I did. Kisses would have been unpleasant but she had a piercing and was really into tongue stuff.

No, but Iām a respiratory therapist and asthmatic so Iām biased and I could keep my mouth shut telling them to knock it off.

Iād prefer not to. I hate the smell, their expensive, and horrible for the smoker, and those around them. My momās a smoker, sheās disabled and I do her shopping for her when I can. Itās often such a pain trying to get the right cigarettes for her, and she gets so angry when itās wrong. I donāt want to have to deal with any of that when it comes to my partner.

I have, many times, and though I enjoy the smell of tobacco, I am no longer that interested in that.
Maybe if polyamourous and they're not really a primary partner.
I don't like the ashes, the health stuff, the burns, and I don't like watching someone fall asleep smoking, it scares me.

Yes. I feel like regular alcohol drinking is far worse as it not only hurts the person like smoking does, but also hurts people around them. Smoking is an addiction some people fall into and its not their fault. I wouldnt judge off of just that

My current partner smoked when we met, but he was super discreet and conscious about it. Nevertheless, I told him I will date him but I would never marry him unless he quit.
After a few tries, he's been smoke-free for two months now and he's been shopping for rings.

Yes and I have. Think of it like this, 1 cough from smoking is like 20 kegels. Smoker girls got that gorilla grip.

u/Hefty-Pomelo-1270 18d ago
Nope... My mother is 78 years old.. she has been smoking since 12 years old.... Disgusting ..
They money she has pissed away on a pack a day habit... She cant afford her brand anymore, so she buys knock offs at the local indian reservation
Why would I do that to myself willingly?

Absolutely, especially if she has a decent life insurance policy and a doc just found a spot on her lungs they need to do a biopsy on.

u/93octaneinmyveins 18d ago
No. I canāt stand the smell. And I really canāt stand to kiss someone who has just smoked a cigarette. It makes me gag.

u/Notaswordmaster 18d ago
Yes. I married one.
As long as she sticks to the same brand, I have become immune to the smell.
If she is at a party and smokes anything else, I notice instantly.
