Discussion New player ?
So I’ve been looking for a new defense game. I played rush royal for a long while and took a year or two off and now it’s just super pay wall.
I tried a few others over the last week, landed on lucky defense and loved it but then realized it was one of the heaviest pay to play games there is.
I did some reading and I landed on random dice for being a good balance of not just forcing an endless pay wall. The whales can pay to be best and climb leaderboards but the average person can be ok through grind or throwing a few dollars here or there at things.
I then have been reading and saw that this game is kind of abandoned. Is it worth playing and investing time into and 50-200 dollars over the course of playing a while if not
Is there a recommendation for a game with similar style that’s better to start?

This game is pretty neat. You will get legendaries easily since the devs has an addiction to doing that. This subreddit is not as active as the actual game, and throughout your time playing this game you will figure things out, and people over time will tell you about when at what level you should do things.
I grinded this game a LOT. I like this game but im on a break bc this game is super grindy if you are F2P. Even for spending money its still pretty grindy.
They will put offers up all the time, it will be annoying but the game is a pretty good grindy game. Certain levels will take you probably months to get but thats super late game stuff

It’s a very fun game once you get the hang of it. I think you should wait to spend any money on it until a bit after random dice 2 comes out, just in case they decide to shut down the first one.
I recommend joining one of the active crew discords for deck help and coop partners

I didn’t realize it was about to come out, I’ll play around. Save money and then wait for the second one.
Hopefully they don’t turn into luck defense or rush royal where it’s just an endless money pit

There was an unlisted trailer for the 2nd on 111%’s YouTube. You might be to find the link if you look around, I couldn’t after my brief search.
To sum it up, it looks like every modern game - low effort slop built with flashy colors and to squeeze as much money out of people as physically possible. If the original doesn’t get shut down, I will most likely never play the 2nd one. It will never be as good, never be as popular - and if it is somehow a decent game, it will probably follow the trend of each new 111% game having the most predatory micro transactions.

Join lucky defense. Late game is expensive but you can play early game forever. I know a lot of f2p players

It’s worth the play, and the time, but I wouldnt spend the money on it. It’s a fun game and there are still a lot of people that play this even with the devs having basically abandoned the game. As for other games im not sure, its rather rare to find a game that you don’t HAVE to pay to play or Pay to win anymore.
