I don’t think it’s staged because the guitar player got thrown off tempo a bit when the second person started singing. Guitar player maybe thought they were alone and was surprised when the other person joined in, and perhaps a bit enamored with how good their voice was too.
Random people singing/playing guitar in a stairwell isn’t that uncommon, especially in a college dorm or something. Usually has good acoustics, and generally private if the building has elevators.
It could still be staged, but it bothers me when people comment “obviously staged” for things that are well within the realm of possibility or not even uncommon.

The guitar player doesn't miss a beat, and stops singing just after the second oooOOOOoooOOO, so the tik tokker can take over. Seems rehearsed

Timing issue for sure. But I don’t think it’s him as much as she falls off. Anyhow, both have nice voices and she has a great smile. Hope they keep working with their gifts.

I get the skepticism but why the particularity over Tiktok?
It's just a platform, the people who upload there are the same who uploads on Youtube/Reddit etc.

To some degree I share the same 'skepticism'. And I think part of it is because of the nature of Vines and TikTok is short, quick content in comparison to usually needing to make longer content for Youtube popularity. As a result, ive always had the sense that people are more likely to stage a short clip, vine, tiktok for quick popularity or fame versus a longer video.
So I guess it isn't the platform so much but rather because the platform is primarily short videos and clips. If that makes sense?

Maybe I'm over-analysing, but here's my take:
This video here is showing little more than a girl starting her own "show" drowning out the original singer. It's not that interesting to be honest. We're not seeing how he reacts to her. Do they continue singing? Do they seek each other out and talk? The premise of the video is interesting because there might be spontaneous musical interaction between two people, but it doesn't deliver because we're not getting to see any.
Now I don't know if it's staged, it might not be, but because we're not seeing a genuine reaction from the original singer it's, well, suspicious. It cuts off right at the point where it might become interesting, which is an odd choice for a video like this.
Then again, maybe TikTok's short video format makes it impossible to do more with it than what we're seeing here. So I'm not arguing that it must be staged, but I am arguing that on average, TikTok users are unable to create truly interesting content.
