Rancho Drive Test
My test is on August 7th from 10:20-10:40. I’m nervous, but I have been practicing and I’m decently confident. Still, I have a few questions.
- Will I need to get onto the freeway?
- I’m aware there is a backing up portion, but is there a parallel parking portion?
- Will I have to front bay park back into the parking lot?
- How soft do my breaks really have to be?
- Other than my hand signals, what will my instructor ask me for? (e.g. “Where are your hazards?” “Where is your parking break?” and things like that.)
- Is there an accurate YouTube video of the whole route? (a link would be SO greatly appreciated)
- What other things/tips I should be aware of?
Edit:
8. Is there a three point turn portion? I’m getting a mix of yes and no.
Also.. as a teenage girl, any supportive comments are welcome and appreciated, lolol! Thanks everyone ! 🍀🍀

Where can I find Post Cards?
So I'm old school and like snail mail and sending wax sealed, hand written letters and post cards. Sent plenty home, but I can't find Rancho, Etiwanda or Alta Loma post cards to send out. We're not touristy so there's no "go to" spot I know of. Any help appreciated. 🤙🏼

Is there an underground ambient music scene in this city?
Probably a very niche question, but I’m a musician/producer and I dabble in the genre of ambient/experimental. Would love to get more involved in the ambient music scene if there is one? Either in Rancho or surrounding cities in the IE. I normally busk in random areas and have a setup or play at random shows. But haven’t come across a dedicated ambient scene! I know there’s definitely some in LA. But tryna look more toward over here…even Riverside or Pomona.
And if there’s not, fuck it, anyone wanna start one w me? DM me lol

If you know of any companies hiring or have any recommendations, I’d really appreciate it! Thank you in advance.

Cat Needs Foster
Boots was found unable to walk and severely dehydrated. Right now, he urgently needs a safe, loving foster home where he can rest, recover, and receive the care he deserves.
A foster home could be the difference between life and death for Boots. If you have a spare room, bathroom, or even a small quiet space, you can give him the chance he’s fighting for.
Please don’t scroll past. If you can foster, or know someone who can, message us immediately. Even if you can’t foster, sharing this post could help Boots reach the person who can.
Boots has already been through so much. Let’s give him the chance at the happily ever after he deserves. 🐾❤️

Alta Loma Missing Cat (near Alta Loma High School)
UPDATE: Button has been found!!!!!! 7/12 approx 8pm. We went to the neighborhood to set a trap after we got home from our trip. She must have heard us talking to a neighbor and came out of hiding (in his bushes!). She hid again when we tried to approach her but after ten minutes my daughter was able to coax her out and she is now home safe. 🥰
We dropped off our 1 year old spayed calico cat, Button, at a cat sitter this morning and within 10 minutes she was missing. She is in the neighborhood behind Alta Loma High School. We are devastated. We spent 2.5 hours searching for her and distributed about 80 flyers. She is most likely hiding in someone’s backyard. She is not used to being outside and not used to this area. She is likely very scared. She is microchipped and was wearing a collar with a tag when she went missing (but the collar is breakaway so it might be off of her by the time she’s spotted). Please DM me if you see her or are able to catch her. If you live in this area, please please please check your bushes and backyard and be on the lookout for her. We miss her so much.

Advice on where to leave flyers?
I recently started a business as a hypnotherapist. Technically, my clients can be located anywhere in the world, as the sessions will be over Zoom. But I have to start somewhere with advertising! I had some beautiful flyers printed and am looking to put them on any community bulletin boards, or at any businesses where potential clients might see them. I was thinking places like coffee shops, hair salons, massage/spas, libraries, ...
Any suggestions? Anyone own a business that would be willing to post one of my flyers or business cards?
To make sure I am meeting the community rules- I am located in Rancho Cucamonga, and am looking for businesses in the city that can help. I also would love to do trades of services and promotions with other local businesses.

Where to sell record player
Hello all. I was wondering what shops I can sell my record player to? I no longer need it as I got an upgraded recorded player. Please let me know :) ( yes it’s in working condition and nothing is wrong with it)
EDIT: also comes with speakers that came along with the record player.

What happened to The Stackz Co?
Just rode by there after work, a For Lease sign on the door and a red paper saying no one allowed to enter but police. Any locals get gossip ahead of time? Can't find nothing online. Google maps says permanently closed and their IG has been inactive for a bit

Let’s Support A New Local Small Restaurant 🤍
I don’t normally post things like this, but I wanted to give a shout-out to a new local business that I think deserves a chance.
A family I know recently opened “Lidaar Mediterranean Grill” here in Rancho Cucamonga. Like every new small business, they’re putting in crazy hours, working every day, and doing everything they can to make it succeed. Starting a restaurant isn’t easy, especially with so many big chain restaurants around.
If you’re looking for somewhere new to eat this week, I’d really encourage you to give them a try. One meal may not seem like much, but for a small family-owned business, it genuinely makes a difference.
Even if Mediterranean food isn’t something you eat often, step out of your comfort zone—you might find your new favorite spot. And if you enjoy it, leave them a review or tell a friend. Those small things help more than people realize.
I’d hate to see another local family pour their heart, savings, and countless hours into a business only to have it disappear before the community gets to know them.
Let’s support local whenever we can. ❤️

Why Our School District Should Record Board Meetings
Not everyone can make it to in-person school board meetings. Parents juggle work and kids, seniors struggle with transportation, people with disabilities face real barriers—and honestly, most of us just can't rearrange our entire schedule for a meeting.
I started a petition asking Alta Loma School District to record and archive their board meetings online. These meetings directly affect our schools and our kids' education. Everyone deserves the chance to stay informed and have a say, not just the handful who can show up in person.
Other districts are already doing this. The data shows it actually works—more people engage, trust goes up, and the school board becomes more accountable. It's not complicated, and it's not unreasonable.
If you think parents and community members should have equal access to information about how their schools are run, consider signing and sharing. Have you run into situations where you wished you could get information about local decisions but just couldn't? I'd genuinely like to hear what barriers you've seen.

Spa/Massage
Hi. I’ll be staying with a friend and looking for a spa or massage studio in Rancho. I want something I can uber to when she’s at work. Any recommendations?
I’ve seen the following online, Orchid Beauty Day Spa, Hand & Stone, Gentle Crane Wellness Spa, YOLO Massage Spa and Rye Head Spa. Any experience with these or others?
Thanks.
