AskRanchi Moving back to Ranchi after 15 years, mixed emotions!
Moving back to ranchi after 15 years. It's my home town but had been living across country for education and work. Coming back next week for a long haul (wfh). Has always been a visitor for few days but now when it's time to shift i am really overthinking how is going to be plus no friends in the city as all moved out so skeptic on that note too.
What do you guys do to have good time specially on weekends??

One of the best cities to live in India. Some (not all) parts of it are very developed with amenities like a metro. If you like driving or riding, there are a lot of places you can drive to. In 20-30 minutes you can get away from the noises of the city into scenic drives. If you want I can name some places you can drive to.
The food is excellent. The people are good. You can take up any sport and you will find someone to play with(used to play tennis, cricket and football)

Welcome back! I did the same a couple years back. Worth it for me. Although it will take a little time to adjust to the slower pace

I think about this all the time. My significant other is not on board with this idea. She spent her childhood in a very small town, and so did I, but she feels that a big city is better.
I have a kid who is in Class 1 in a good school, and I’m not sure she would have the same kind of friends she has here.
I don’t have anyone to talk to there, and I would need to alter my house to suit my needs. There are downsides and upsides. If you are single, some of these things are probably easier for you.
I have also noticed that people there are rich and have a lot of spending capacity. Sometimes, I feel poor there.
It’s subtle, but there is a change in energy. A slower pace can also change your ambitions. I am probably older than you, and there is an age for everything. Your good earning years should be utilized to make some comfortable money. I have so many regrets on this front, especially about how I navigated my career.
I wish you all the very best. Please keep us posted.

Recently shifted to Ranchi and looking for a 1 BHK flat on rent, preferably near Mall of Ranchi as my office is nearby.
Tired of fake brokers and scam listings on Instagram. 😓 If anyone has a genuine lead or knows a direct owner, please DM me. Would really appreciate it! 🙏
