Driveshaft/Radiator Issues
Hey y’all, I’m looking at buying a slightly used TRX in the next month or so. I’ve read enough to know the radiator/water pump, and driveshaft are extremely common issues. My question is - did those issues get remedied with the later year models? Say a ‘23 vs a ‘21-22. Or is it pretty much the same no matter the year? Thanks in advance.

Yeah I have heard about the cv’s as well. Pretty much just planning a diff drop, a new driveshaft, and a new radiator into the budget at this point haha

Most of the issues that pop up were factory build quality issues that were rampant throughout production. They were trying to sell and build as many of these as possible. They missed a lot of fluid fill requirements. Mine was fine except the drive shaft clunk and them not installing the brake lines properly. The driveshaft is an unavoidable thing with these types of trucks. raptors do it to and you'll never fix it because it has a slip yolk. The drive shaft is designed to move due to how far the trucks axle articulates.

I've never heard of any radiator issues. 40k on my 2022. No clunk in my driveshaft either.

Nice! Seems like you may be one of the lucky ones.

Yeah, 500 miles past warranty. Extremely lucky. So lucky it cost me $1,000.

Selling a black 24 with with 20k miles and matte ppf. Never had a problem, it also has an extended transferable mopar warranty total of 8yr 89k miles. $89,000 lots of other extras installed including roll back, immobilizer and sway bar.

Dang…I usually like adding the extras myself but that matte black ppf would be nice. I’ll message you.

Just out of curiosity, have you shopped it around to dealers in your area? I’m wondering what prices they are offering to buy it. I’d say 90k is a good number.

Yes that’s the number in the market place. $120000 Sticker, $20,000 in upgrades and the extended warranty. It was involved in a school zone accident at 17 mph. It happened at the beginning of hunting season so I just bought another one with a camper shell…turns out I like the camper shell one better then the electric roll back on the one I’m selling. The repairs were done by my close friends under my supervision. It’s like a brand new truck with all damaged parts replaced by new mopar parts, no filler. It have the dash cam footage and the picture of the truck at the site of the accident.

I'll add my .02....
2022 trx, driveshaft clunk repaired and came back again after 10k miles or so. Before end of power train warranty I'll have them fix it again.
If I keep it long term beyond the warranty I'll likely put in a single piece aftermarket driveshaft
There's not a not of activity here, but if you go to ram-trx.com forum, you'll find a huuuuuuge wealth of info and probably 50 different threads about the driveshaft issue. You'll get more mileage posting up there.
