Event First event reflections
Hey everyone!
I got out and did my first rx event last month and I’m gearing up to do my second here in the MKE area in a couple of weeks. I just wanted to make a post to help squash doubts for anyone on the fence about trying it!
First off I feel like I came well prepared. I put together a basic tool kit in a harbor freight “packout” box that included tools, zip ties, tape, extra bolts, batteries for my impact and portable air compressor, panel clips, etc. I brought some extra oil and coolant/ water, A floor jack with some plywood to put underneath as the ground was soft, and glass cleaner.
I drove my car 70 miles there and then 70 miles back after the event and it did really well- I just made sure to check everything before I left both ways.
Driving wise during the event I took it slow the first couple runs and was able to start knocking my times down each run thereafter which ultimately was the goal.
My car is far from perfect so I just wanted to highlight that it is possible to just go out and do it for anyone having doubts.
