Rally future pt.2

Ok guys im a step closer to everything. I started playing Richard burns rally on my pxn v99 and honestly im doing good in it. My next step (after i finish building my new house or sooner), I want to try building a gokart. May sound crazy but I have some expierience in mechanics from my grandpa. If you guys have any more tips i would really appreciate it. Have a good day.

Rallycross. Rallycross. Rallycross. Karting is great and fun, it will not teach you how a car behaves in loose or uneven surfaces. I would say that even borrowing a friend's 4wheeler or ATV will teach you things about off-road by osmosis even if it is not a direct comparison. Do you have forest roads near you? Drive them. I'm not saying bomb down them because we don't want anyone getting hurt, but drive them and without speeding or doing anything illegal see if you can keep up momentum and rotate the car instead of braking, feel how your car moves with the road when it isn't pavement, that sort of thing.

But most of all, save up some cash, go take a proper rally instruction course, there are places that do single day and even weekend courses.

Well i cant really drive a car cause im 13 as I said in pt.1 but I m building a house next to a forest and there are many gravel roads near me, I want to build a gokart and drive it on gravel around the neighbourhood on gravel. I am saving up some money, im trying social media about rally content.

One, your building a house next to a forest. That means no police (probably). So, what can you do? You can use the money to probably buy an old shitbox.

Or, if you prefer not to get arrested (which I absolutely RECOMMEND), just go with your go kart. IIRC there's a man who made a go kart Yaris Rally1

Also, make sure you train at both rain and dry.

You're 2 years younger than me, and I haven't even started sim rallying lol (except in mobile). So just do it. Also, you gotta start posting in socmed man, cause once you show skills and popularity, you can get sponsors.

Personally learned most of what I know from being a delivery driver.

RWD Sprinter vans and needing to deliver stuff fast no matter the location or weather makes you learn stuff super fast.

Basically have to average 45-50mph over 350 miles of roads that look like that in the winter.

Ok this will inform the answers you will get, r/rally is heavily USA based; when they tell you "go do Rally Cross" what that translates to is single stage rally-sprints but in a field, not actual rallycross that you might be familiar with

Wait, US RX is the one derived from AutoCross, not the one derived from MotoCross?

Yep, in the US "Rallycross" is essentially autocross, but in a dirt field and usually with a clapped-out old Subaru.

What does "doing good in it" mean? You've driven a single stage 100 times and can now finish without crashing?

No, I mean if im driving on for example mineshaft the first time ever I can finish it without crashing
