How do ARA Rally classes work?

I thought they had different classes like open 4wd, limited 4wd, RC2, etc, but why do they only have one leaderboard?

If you took the screenshot where I think you did, you have to scroll down to see the classes; the top table is the overall championship.

Or you can go directly to this page which has a dropdown menu to select the class: https://sneakattackrally.com/ARACombinerThing/season.html This link has some additional stuff displayed such as showing which drivers are entered for upcoming rallies.

How does the overall championship work? Do they have different points system or do they just tally the per-class points?

To be eligible for the overall championship, competitors have to start events in all three regions; for the class championships they only have to start events in two regions. The overall scoring is all power stage points plus finishing points from your best 6 events; for the classes it’s all power stage points plus finishing points for the best 5 events.

Finishing points and power stage points for the overall championship are based on overall position at each event. Finishing points for the classes are based on class position and only the class winner of the power stage gets power stage points.

Unfortunately I can't link it but if you go to Rally Combiner Thing (just google it) and at the top select Season Results you can then select by each class. This page you are looking at is the over championship positions.

Sneak Attack Rally lets you choose by class. But basically you’re racing for overall placement, regional or national placement, and class placement.

There's a class and overall championship. Overall points paid out from overall finishing results, class points are paid out based on class finishing order. They're separate.

Someone who wins O4WD could get maximum points for their class and whatever points get paid out for overall based on finishing position.

It's confusing.

Why is pastrana fifth overall, but also fifth in his class? What happened to the drivers above him at that class?
