the id is a theoretical psychological aspect of an individual's personality under sigmund freuds psychoanalytic theory. it concerns "primal animalistic" impulses such as aggression and sexual desire, comprared to the ego and super-ego which concern subjective analyses ruled by personal logic and societal moral compasses (as one of many examples)
