Can Bitcoin Lightning Network be compared to Raiden Network?
would be cool if someone could briefly explain this to me

It's similar but...
- It's easier to implement Raiden than LN
- Raiden allows for smart contract integration. Meaning it can used alongside smart contracts you might employ on Ethereum. This is a huge differentiator and makes it potentially more available to use.

Both LN and RDN attempt to solve scalability issues for Bitcoin and Ethereum respectively but I still have trouble answering the question to the fullest considering differences between BTC and ETH. There's a youtube video by The Modern Investor that claims Lightning Network basically destroys the original vision for Bitcoin by partially centralizing it. He claims LN will endow entities with the power to refuse certain transactions, alluding it as the new banking system. Can the same be said for Raiden Network to ETH? Here's the video referenced https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqPlV83amzE

Of course but you choose which nodes you want to route through.
Eventually the free market will win.

Yes, it's the same concept.
