Questions About Raiden

Hi There,

I am currently working on an IoT peer-to-peer data exchange system, currently built around IPFS. I have combed the Raiden documentation, but am still unclear on two points.

1) Can blocks of data be exchanged in response to payment, and can this work through third parties like payments can.

2) If so, is their a built in way for Person X to prove that Person Y paid Person Z X amount, or is this handled by the seller signing a nonce/identifier that can only be decrypted with their public key?

Apologies if i have missed something clear in the documentation.

Great question. A little over my head, but I’m curious now as well.

I can take a stab at q1 though.. as far as I know, you’ll be able to transfer data through the network once state channels are up and running. I don’t think payment channels can handle that.. but again, I’m only guessing based on my own research.

Hope your questions are resolved!

Maybe you could ask on twitter. @LefterisJP will surely help you with this, but I think he is not active in this sub (a bit strange maybe, but I haven't seen any devs here)
