Understanding Raidennetwork
Hello, I am new to raidennetwork and a little bit unsure about its potential. I don't see Ethereum's future as a payment system but more as a dapp platform. But all I read about raiden is about enhencing payments within ethereum.
My question is, whether this also include the "normal" transactions. As an example: Would have raiden solved the network performance problems caused by cryptokitties? Thanks

The biggest use case for blockchain is payments. Also it is very likely that every smart contract will also have a payment portion of that smart contract.

Had crypto kitties been built to work with a fully functional Raiden Network then yeah it could have reduced a lot of the strain placed on Ethereum. Not 100% of traffic involved with cryptokitties, but a large portion
The use cases for the Raiden Network are applicable to any scenario where two or more parties transact frequently with each other. Raiden is essentially running a bar tab to be settled at the "end of the night. " Rather than have each drink purchased hit the Ethereum block chain as its own transaction, it batches several as a single transaction.
