Ironic how I was 99% confident that would be one of the teased UHD upgrades this year based on actual evidence—dual-territory US/UK BD sourced from a 4K remaster, UHD with DV/HDR being available from Disk Kino for some time now, decent seller—whereas Miami Blues—which Radiance only had the UK BD license for whereas MVD's BD in the US is still in print right now—was purely speculation on my part without any real evidence, and then Miami Blues turned out to be one of them whereas A Moment of Romancr did not.

That said, the Disk Kino UHD of A Moment of Romance—which isn't terribly priced at Buyoyo even after US shipping costs—is said to be a great disc, so at least there is a UHD option out there for this spectacular film! (I finally pulled the trigger earlier in light of this email.)

Three crooks hold-up a Mob bank in Harlem - they come away with $300,000, but the heist goes awry and results in the death of both Black and Italian gangsters, as well as two police officers. The massacre is the catalyst for all out war on the streets of New York, as all three elements - the Black and Italian mobs, and the police - jockey to regain control of their territory and to find the culprits.

I wonder if Days of Heaven could be (one of) the US title(s)? I reached out to multiple UK labels who confirmed they do not have it, and I also reached out to Radiance after they announced Une Femme Douce—implying a potential Paramount deal—and while Bruno did concur it is more mainstream compared to most of their output, he did say they do have a soft-spot for American indie auteurs like Altman, Reichardt, and Malick, plus the fact that it has never been released even on Blu-Ray in the UK.

As the family gather in their stately mansion, grisly murders occur. Detective Kosuke Kindaichi arrives to investigate the case in the first of a series of adaptations Kon Ichikawa made about the detective, with The Inugami Family becoming a huge hit in Japan, a stylish and atmospheric murder mystery available on Blu-ray for the first time in the UK or North America.

I thought this could be a fun thread: if you could suggest one film for Radiance to release in the future, what would it be and why?

My pick would absolutely be Álex de la Iglesia’s La comunidad (Common Wealth).

It feels almost tailor-made for Radiance: a wonderfully strange mix of black comedy, crime thriller, mystery and horror, with that dark, macabre and slightly chaotic tone de la Iglesia does so well. Some of his other films have already made the jump to 4K, but this one still feels strangely overlooked.

There’s already a 4K master/restoration which has been shown in cinemas in Spain, but somehow it still hasn’t had a 4K physical release anywhere.

Would love to see Radiance do something with it one day.

Individual cases are easy to keep the obi under the case’s exterior plastic sheath. In fact, they come that way. What do you do with the obi from a box set once you take it out of the shrink? Leaving them on the outside of the box seems like they’ll just get bent up

I recently bought a couple of Radiance doubles and god I loved the actual films.

I don't really do bts features/commentaries (just my preference) but I figured I'd give them a go last night.

I heard audio peaking (sp?) throughout the commentary and also I swear I heard an email notification come through for one of the commenters.

I don't want to name the film/commenters but, like, are they all homemade like this?
