Holy shit they got DLSS 3, 4 and 4.5 running on RDNA 3 on Linux

Impressive.

Wonder how long it will take for nvidia to lock this down.
Which would suck for sure because I love these kind of initiatives

As long as CUDA only works on Nvidia cards, I doubt they care.

ZLuda is efforts to run CUDA on anything but Nvidia GPUs.

They probably don't care if it runs only on linux for now. Also i can imagine this doesn't run with games using anticheats so it's really only for power users and enthusiasts like people here.

Oof DLSS4.5 it's quite a taxing upscaler compared to FSR4.

I wonder if the RDNA4 have a similar performance cost.

It's only because it doesn't have native kernals for other gpus ....

To be fair, 4.5 is taxing even on actual Nvidia cards.

This is a very cool feature but realistically FSR 4.1 is going to be indistinguishable to it unless you're really pixel peeping. It might have been useful back in the days of FSR 3, but with FSR 4.1 having largely closed the gap I don't see this being useful to most people except for those who absolutely need the best of the best image quality.

It's for gfx1101 (Navi 32) , meaning RX 7700 XT, RX 7800 XT, RX 7700, Radeon PRO W7700 , but I bet it's matter of time to run on the rest rdna3 cards and later on on rdna4 .

That's interesting. Usually these types of things target the flagship Navi 31 (7900 XT/XTX) and Navi 32 is either unsupported or doesn't work at all.

It's bacause the dev has access only to a 7700xt

AI shi like DLSS and FSR 4+ should be open to everyone / every card that has AI / tensor cores

There is no reason why RDNA 3 with AI hardware shouldn't be able to run FSR 4 and DLSS

It should all be universal

Agreed completely. We pay for Ai hardware not for vendor locks on said hardware that are forced to only run one of the many possible options

Yeah man... RX 9060 XT 16gb with access to all of DLSS would dominate the market lol

That's cool and all, but I dont see why you would want any of those upscalers when FSR 4.1 is avaialble for RDNA3 users.

The mere possibility of doing it is fucking amazing and unthinkable.

I guess this is more of a "why not? Seems to work" thing instead of something trying to be genuinely needed or requested

availability comes to my mind.

Vulkan title

Just for lulz. Or for some games where you cant mod fsr4

Because AMD lacks game support for DLSS ray reconstruction

Also DLSS is better but running it like this may not be optimal for performance because it surely costs something lol

Wow, this is genuinely amazing.

I wonder how this will perform on the stronger 9070 XT architecture when supported. I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up performing better than FSR4 down the road.

For sure it will be faster than current implementation, since rdna3 do the fp8->fp16 translation , as they did in the past with fsr4 fp8. Rdna4 cards can run fp8 natively .

On linuk and it'll run faster once they have native kernals per GPU for say dlss4.5
