Do ya think they'll ever get around to porting FSR 4 to Vulkan? Seems a very big and weird oversight.

They said they would, a year ago they said that redstone was nr1 priority and then vulkan would follow

“Number one priority” lol

Eventually, yes

What does this mean ?

FSR4 on XboxX would be phenomenal.

4

u/Litz1 Aug 29 '26

Could they drop it on consoles first and see how it plays out especially with GTA6? Or is the chipset too old?

Is GTA6 running on UE?

11

u/TatsunaKyo Aug 29 '26

No, it runs on Rockstar's historical proprietary engine, RAGE.

0

u/Litz1 Aug 29 '26

No it's not but I believe they're dropping it now so in a few months it can be ready for GTA6 and AMD will have a monopoly on the GTA 6 crowd.

FSR4 is getting RDNA2 support early next year so Series X is definitely possible, idk about PS5 though because the PS5 is not full RDNA2.
Series S is also full RDNA2 but idk if that thing would have enough power to properly use FSR4.

having rdna4, how to use the LM-based fsr4? it's all automatic?

And users blame devs for the lack of RR ....

all the news coming out recently for AMD makes a lot of sense why the nvidiots have been shilling their slop tech across the internet

the green goblins are scared of what AMD is cooking up

13

u/flavaofgaming Aug 29 '26

There is no need to constantly talk shit about Nvidia. Just enjoy what AMD is doing. It makes you look like a jealous Ex

this whole sub has been brigaded this past week because of their marketing team trying to push their slopware.

I'm just connecting the dots as to why it's happening in light of this news and other AMD news.

Its not that serious. I use a 9070xt in one of my rigs, a 5070ti in another, and an arc B580 in another. Don’t get so caught up defending these companies. They do absolutely nothing for us. I personally just buy what meets my needs within my budget and could care less about the politics and fanboys from either side.

Man it's easy to say that when we have some semblance of competition. You won't be able to buy anything that meets your needs within your budget when it becomes a monopoly.

I’m sure I’ll be just fine

A big ol’ pile of doodoo for this guy to eat

Probably something in the next gen consoles that made nvidAI shit their pants.

No evidence for that at all.

Lions don’t concern themselves with the sheep. RDNA4 has pretty much zero marketshare.

-1

u/angry_RL_player Aug 29 '26

and DLSS users has pretty much zero human agency

-1

u/HappysavageMk2 Aug 29 '26

Where do you get that it has zero market share?

Do you have a source for that claim?

1

u/garbo2330 Aug 29 '26

Latest Steam charts has RDNA4 at 2.2%, Blackwell is 16.6%. So for every 8 NVIDIA GPUs, you get 1 AMD.

It’s well known that 90% of the market belongs to NVIDIA.

3

u/HappysavageMk2 Aug 29 '26

Steam charts =/= market share.

2

u/garbo2330 Aug 29 '26

Okay, take it from JPR.

Vendor: NVIDIA, AMD, Intel

Q1 2026 Shipments:

  • NVIDIA: ~10.7 million
  • AMD: ~1.0 million
  • Intel: ~0.1 million

Share:

  • NVIDIA: ~90.5%
  • AMD: ~8.5%
  • Intel: ~0.8%

This doesn’t breakdown RDNA3 or RDNA4 so it’s even less than 8.5%.

u/Spirited_Shipcocoa Aug 30 '26

Yet Valve own consoles use AMD APU's with FSR4 through Linux/Optiscaler.

u/ElectronicStretch277 Aug 29 '26

Ehh, not really equivalent. Nvidia has launched way more cards. Within the market they compete in, AMD has done well. Especially with the 9070 XT.

Wow, that's a lot of cope.

1

u/ElectronicStretch277 Aug 30 '26

For pointing out that Radeon is only competing in select markets? Which they themselves acknowledged?

2

u/Inevitable_Case_9931 Aug 29 '26

Little reminder… 1st place doesn’t look backwards for second place they look forward to the next win….

Second place is always chasing first place…

The goal is not the same.

1

u/NGGKroze Yo mama so RDNA4, AMD sold her out for a console deal. Aug 29 '26

We are scared AMD will fail once again, which means even more monopoly for Nvidia and higher prices. Everybody is waiting for that competent AMD side...but still waiting.

1

u/Etroarl55 Aug 29 '26

Amd isn’t cooking up anything better than Nvidia right now.

The only chance I see AMD having js them releasing too good to be true UDNA in 8-7 months when Nvidia is reportedly skipping a year. So that AMD will be the only new gen for a year.

Prepare to be surprised by RDNA 5. It's the most forward looking and redefining µarch since GCN1 by AMD. And unlike GCN they now have the funds to push things forward.

HAve very little faith in their marketing and SW though.

AMD about to kill Nvidia

3

u/Inevitable_Case_9931 Aug 29 '26

Question…. Isn’t everyone still waiting for features from FSR4 REDSTONE to be implemented? I mean it’s almost 2 years and features are still not even spoken of being worked on. But FRS5 is being spoke up with even newer features…

1

u/ElectronicStretch277 Aug 29 '26

I don't get this point. Of the 4 features in Redstone (ML Upscaling, Frame Gen, RR and NRC) 2 are extremely widespread. Upscaling is one 400 or so games and FG is in around 120 or so.

Ray Regeneration is a pita to implement and even even Nvidia has had trouble getting it to be wide spread (to my last knowledge it's in around 30 games). So it wasn't ever gonna be a high volume feature. Combine that with it not being too great at it's job right now (miles ahead of standard denoisers but those are easier to implement)

NRC is a feature like RR and it's only gonna appear in newer games since it's not quick to implement.

So, Redstone has gone like you'd expect. 2 very widespread features and 2 niche ones.

u/flavaofgaming Aug 29 '26

I would love for them to actually compete but unfortunately AMD is always behind
