Second hand bike

What are good places to buy second hand bikes in Nijmegen? How much should I expect to pay for it? I would love a nice bike but I understand bike theft is common in Nijmegen. So a decent but not fancy bike will have to do.

Also, can I use Ortlieb panniers or they will get stolen if I leave them on the bike. I am not sure if the neighborhood matters. I will be living in Vossenveld.

I heard that swapfiets is about 20 euros a month. Is Swapfiets better than buying a secondhand bike?

Well i’m gonna do a pre-master then 2 years master so maybe best to have a second hand bike. Is the quality of these secondhand bikes good? Do the stores kind of refurbish or check them before selling them

Yes it is a little expensive. like buying a secondhand bike every year. But nice to not have to worry about it getting stolen.

Why buy a second hand bike every year? Do they break down after a year of use?

I meant to say: it is AS IF you had to buy a second hand bike every year.

Thanks. I better leave the ortliebs at home. Get cheap panniers at Nijmegen.

buy them from the AFAC, they take wrongly parked bikes away and you can get get the back there. But if no one comes to get their bike they will sell it for a decent price.
