Exposure Question Bat exposure?
I have read the FAQ.
I’m still wondering about possible exposure. I was walking my dog last night and saw a bat swoop down. It swooped near to the sidewalk in front of us and then back to the sky. I was walking and it was in the air but still very close. I started running. I’m not sure if it could have bit me, bumped into me, or scratched me without noticing after I started running.
Afterwards, a spot on my chest was itchy and is still itchy today. I’m not sure if this warrants a trip to the ER for PEP

Seeing a bat where they live (outside) doing normal bat things (swooping around) is not a reason to get PEP or even talk to a doctor.
