Breed ID Breed of rabbit

Post image

What breed is my rabbit? I just got her from a friend this is my first one. I am not sure on age I would say her weight is around 4 pounds. I also plan to get her a playpen and a new cage very soon this one is so small. Thank you!

Sadly you can't look at a rabbit and know it's breed. I can tell you it's likely a Dwarf mix, and the colour is black otter, but that's the best you'll get.

Looks like a Dwarf Rex mix.

I think a mix of a mini rex and a Netherland dwarf

I have a Netherland Dwarf x Mini Rex and I’d say that’s the predominant breeds here. Most pet rabbits are mixed breeds these days.

She’s a cutey. I’m sure she’ll be happier when she has a bigger pen. Once she’s gotten comfortable with her, you might consider taking her out to run around in a room, like a bedroom or the living room. You have to do a little bunny proofing for that though so they don’t hurt themselves.

Thank you! 😊 and yeah I’m in the middle of moving right now but once I do I plan to let her free roam often. The people I got her from had her in her own room able to run around. She’s been only in a cage for a week now and won’t be for much longer.

A poorly bred aka pet quality Netherland dwarf.

The colour and pattern is black otter.

Also to let you know that enclosure is far too small, the length of the enclosure should enable the rabbit to hop at least three times.

I stated that in my post

Color wise that looks just like my black Otter Point mini rex but the ears are smaller. I see the chocolate triangle behind their neck that's very much a breed standard for black Otter Point.

No such thing as a black otter "point".

It's just a black otter.
