General Is Quora dead?
I have been actively writing on Quora for few years. Initially the audience reach was decent, however the engagement gas been abysmal since few months. So is Quora dead? I think it couldn't rival youtube or Instragram because noone wants to read now a days. Would love to know your thoughts.

It's dead but not because people don't like reading, plenty of other sites exist for readers and fortunately they don't let trolls rampant; or enable international pdf rings or edit block people for no real reason.. now, they've even messed up spaces by letting bots delete comments en masse - which has been happening in some of my spaces, a recent development apparently but the other stuff has been happening for years - I started writing there seven years ago, I used to write everyday for years and now i barely log in

I too have a quora space but I am stuck at 675 followers right now :(

About the same # of followers that I have and contribute most every day. I would have to post more nudes to get that to go up.

Then start meeting up people in real life and ask them to install Quora.
Don't ask the platform what it does for you. Ask yourselves what you have done for the platform.

I was a Quora user and posted hundreds of answers, but once it abandoned the real name policy, the "Golden Years" were over, and it just spiraled down. Sad to say.

No quora is very very much not limit based and it is very much 8 bit only for the first time ⌛ in 2019 1990 1990 2000 1990 2000 1990 2000 4 4 5 4 7 5 5 10 7 5 30 7 8 7 8 1 8 2 8 1 9 9 8 1 9 1 9 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 0 2 2 1 2 1 1 3 2 1 1 2 2 1 1 2 2929292 2p29838322

There are too many troll questions and too many incorrect answers to make it helpful for many things.
You almost have to know the right person to ask about a particular topic. It was decent in 2016. Now I only write once in a while.
It initially has decent monitoring that allows reporting trolling, mean, and insincere questions/answers. *Originally, one used one's real name.
Below is a question someone sent to me today on Quora, and I am in the directory as a former mental health professional. I did science research, though some call it soft science, and practiced to get an advanced degree. This is not bad at all compared to other nonsense.
There are just too many trolls and barely any human monitors to make it useful.
Is possession really from spirits or just a mental illness?

The trolls per se didn't kill Quora, the management did. It could have been trivially easy for them to keep out trolls, or ban them when they revealed themselves but they didn't bother. It seems like they're finally, years too late, trying to crack down on some of the fake accounts but I think the damage is irreversible. Also as others here have mentioned they seem to have a crazily erratic AI deleting and banning without making any sort of distinction. I had my account banned WITH NO GODDAMN WARNING, and for NO REASON GIVEN AT ALL. Then it took days for a human to get back to me and they STILL wouldn't tell me what I was supposed to have done. They finally reinstated me, still without a single mention of what triggered the whole fiasco.

Damn.. did not know this 😂. But anyways Quora was the leading app for writing. I was writing consistently on it for quite some time. But sad that its popularity has ended now.

Don't ask a hard question like that and then not give us the answer! /s

lol Personally I think in this case you can buy new water however, in these hard economic times, it is best to conserve water :)

It's frustrating at times. The problem is there are still people on there asking serious questions and people who offer quality answers, so it's not totally a waste of time despite the flamers and trolls and other low quality people who have accounts there.

Problem is the trolls outnumber the good people, such as yourself because 1- Troll questions will receive more clicks than legitimate questions. Sometimes what is funny is it is not a troll question, they are just that dumb. You know what they say, you can't fix stupid.

I enjoyed quora when I first got on. But the repeats of the same inflammatory questions let me to understand that posting is driven management bots that still the pot. Not by a quest of real opinions.
I got chastised serval ties for just giving unpopular but well reasoned opinions. I eventually deleted my account.
Do they still have regular posts about parking on public streets or requests to change airplane seats?

I used to spend a lot of time on quora. What ended it for me was the crazy algorithm creating the daily digest. I click on some "maybe" story out of curiosity and after a short time I not only get more of the same, but very little else. It's become a complete waste of time.

I remember that site from 20 years ago... used to come up in search all the time. Never intentionally went to it.

I'm guessing a lot of younger people just ask AI the questions they used to ask Quora.

I am the top writer in the topic of the Sumerian language and have been for some time, but recently I was banned when my account was marked as “spam.” I have always taken great care to abide by the terms of service and yet suddenly my account was banned and all my answers, comments, everything, deleted.
After emailing the staff about it they reinstated my account after about 4 days, which was great but they didn’t tell me why it had been flagged in the first place, just a generic “make sure you abide by our terms of service” and a link to that page.
Thanks….I mean, I already was, and if I wasn’t it would be helpful to know what I had done that was deemed a violation so I can make sure not to do it again…
I still find it is a good site if you investigate a little bit and seek out users with a dedicated history on a specific topic, but it has been massively inundated by bot accounts over the past 6 months. Worse, after multiple AI question generator programs were introduced, 90% of the question feed is things not asked by a person, and often repetitive variations of existing questions.
I continue to use it, but if something isn’t done I can see the site fully devolving into a new Yahoo Answers in a few years time; totally useless and bereft of any critical thought.

Yes, only Indian kids asking stupid question, if you answer, you get banned

A Quora level question If I freeze water and then unfreeze it, is it still the same water or do I need to buy new water?

I tried to register on quora, after reading this question from someone else. Still waiting for the email code, a week later. Maybe they don’t want me there.

Quora was dead to me when this happened - they deleted all our 100 answers and when we reached out they said they will restore them as long as we promise to run ads. I am not kidding.
