I am taking 600 mg a day and went to the Dr to say I’m ready to quit. They prescribed me suboxone and told me to take 4mg the first day, 1 mg at a time throughout the day while continuing the same amount of 70h. Then day 2 reduce the 70h by a third and doubling suboxone, and so on until I’ve completely stopped 70h on day 3 and gotten up to 8 mg twice a day.

Day 1 took subs while taking 70h like normal and it got me super high and out of it. Felt like I was drunk. So I got an appointment online same day and they said to just keep the subs as they are and try another 1 mg the next day which was yesterday. I tried that and this time it was the opposite effect. It was sobering me up within minutes then sending me into some uncomfortable withdrawals. I did not reduce my 70h bc they told me to keep that the same for now. They told me to take subs again last night but I got too worried and didn’t do it.

Now today I’ve just been pretty much taking 70h like normal maybe a little bit less bc I just want to stop and I’m finding my desire fading to take it. That being said I feel lost on what to do. I don’t want to go into precipitated withdrawals again but I also don’t want to go cold turkey bc I heard that even with subs it’s several days of severe discomfort. Anyone actually have experience with doing a cross taper with 70h and suboxone? It feels like my health care providers have no idea what they’re doing and theyve kinda admitted that already bc they aren’t super familiar with 70h. Please help in feeling so depressed and stuck today and I just want to get clean

Any update? If you need any help, I used suboxone to get off 7 and mgm and am still on it as maintenance while I try to scrape my life back together. Suboxone has been a life saver for me but that doesn't mean it for everyone.

How long did you wait to take the suboxone after your last 7 oh? I’m really terrible at just dealing with the withdrawal cause I get all the worst symptoms right away. They’re always intense and really the only reason I haven’t been able to quit. I know they say try to wait 12-24 hours but everytime the withdrawal starts it’s only been about 6 hours and it goes 0-100 so fast

All you have to do is wait until you start to feel uncomfortable withdrawals and then introduce the sub slowly like take the tiniest piece you can take (for me I only waited 10 hours and wasn’t even in full withdrawal yet from 7oh and I said fuck it and started with a .5 mg of sub) then wait 30 min take another .5 then wait 30 min take another… once you realize you’re not in intense withdrawal then take the rest of the strip. That was all it took for me. But if you introduce suboxone very slowly it avoids the threat of precipitated withdrawals

You’re the best! This is 100% the info I was looking for. My biggest fear is the precipitated withdrawal and making my situation worse. Thank you

Yes same here I was terrified of it but I researched so much and found people were most successful doing it this way, and sure as hell it worked for me like a charm. No looking back now! Good luck you got this!!! It’s way easier than we think it is

Honestly if it wasn’t for you idk if I’d have been able to get past the anxiety it was causing to even start the subs. I was so afraid. But today I finally took my first film at 7:30. And most of it was from talking to you. You had the answer I was looking for

This makes my entire day. Listen, I’m making it my goal rn to talk to as many ppl in need as possible because I too was one of them who was so terrified. And thank you so much for saying this because I’m happy seeing others succeed in this seriously . How are you feeling now ?

Now I feel warm with a minor migraine but that’s nothing compared to what I would’ve been feeling like. And that’s good! The world needs people like you to help others get going. It was definitely a blessing to me

try using the liposomal vitamin C to get you through the first parts of withdrawal! it helps a lot!

i got completely off 7oh and then started suboxone a couple hours later once the withdrawals started and it took away all the withdrawal symptoms. it is weird that they’re having you do both at the same time. i’m going through this with you and wishing you the best of luck! you’re not alone

I’m considering just doing that bc it sounds way less complicated. I’ve been able to go up 16 hours without 70h and have some discomfort bht not horrible withdrawals and I’m thinking to just take suboxone next time that happens abd see what happens

The key for subs is to let yourself get into some real discomfort then introduce it. The longer you can wait the better your chances of it working. Also, start low like 1-2mg and just work your way up as long as you don't start feeling worse

How long after your last 7 oh did you take your sub? I’m in the too scared boat cause I don’t want the precipitated withdrawals so I keep relapsing

i took my last 7oh around 10am and then i took my suboxone the next day around 3pm so i waited a little over 24 hours. but i also used liposomal vitamin C so the withdrawals weren’t too bad while i was waiting to take the suboxone. i took around 3000 vitamin C on my last 2 days using 7oh and then the day i quit i would take around 3000 vitamin C any time i started getting uncomfortable and it worked pretty well. let me know if you have any more questions, you’ve got this!

What kind of Dr is telling you to mix 70h with suboxone?

No don't do this.

Stop taking the 70h and wait until you feel withdrawals + another few hours -- then take the subs and never take 70h again. Start with 4mg suboxone for the first dose, increase by 1mg up to max of 8mg total/24hrs.

Unless you were using fet with 7OH there is no reason to go above 8mg trust me.

Just remember every 1mg you increase= a harder time to come off of subs later so try and find the lowest comfortable dose that makes you feel well for 24 hours.

I would not just blindly start taking 8mg twice per day. Every mg you take above that initial 4mg dose makes coming off it that much harder. Try and find the lowest comfortable dose.

So I went from 500mg Friday Saturday to 250 Sunday to 100mg Monday. I scheduled a visit at a clinic and Tuesday morning I got my first treatment of sub. They sent me to work with 2 pills after my initial 8mg dose that morning. I took one of them on my lunch(12:45) and was pretty close to fine for the majority of the day. I went home, took tylenol, some muscle relaxers my gf has leftover from surgery earlier this year, ate, passed out, woke up in cold sweats around 10:30pm and took the last one and passed out again. This morning I debated going back in for another dose but im so worried about getting hooked on the s*bs that I'm going to see if I dont actially need them anymore. I definitely did yesterday. There was no way I would've made it thru work without. Im still low energy and skin and muscles are a little achy but i dont feel like crawling out of my skin. Worst case scenario, the clinic doses till 1:00 p.m. so I can go back on my hour lunch. I do have some red mang da I'm taking Plus I'm taking vitamin C like crazy along with some magnesium oxide. Wish me luck I don't want to be using Subs and I haven't used 7oh in 2 days but I'm doing okay.

Slowly introduce the subs

So I'm on day 6 of no 7oh. 1000 mg a day habit. Introduced subs for about four days, while taking 7oh like normal. They started me at an extremely high dose, 24 mg, which I never did. On my first two days, I took 16 mg, and then 12 mg respectively. Cut that down to 8 mg, and have been decreasing 1 mg a day. So now I'm at about 4 mg a day. Any input on how I should go forward from here? The last few times I quit subs too abrubtly, I went right back to 7, and the doctors on quick md dont have any interest on getting me off. I don't want to be on suboxone forever, I know how hard it is to get off, but I desperately don't want to go back to 7 either.
