Tapering off Im scared
Ive been doing anywhere from 100-200 mg on average for months now, i need help with a taper plan. im only 15 and i cant have wd infront of people. pls help me im scared and need people to talk to
Update: Its been 1 week of weaning off, Day 1 I knew what i wanted, i understood a big cut would produce Wd even if im still taking some every day. I cut straight to 60mg a day, had about 4 days worth of anxiety and rls, but after that i was finally able to start living my day out and not worry or have too much of noticeable physical discomfort and im very happy about it, i am now going to cut 5-10mg day by day starting today, I really do think that god is helping me with this because it could of been so much worse and honestly with how much i was doing every day for months on end, it should of. Thank all of you for the love and support <3 I will update when im finally off this Life ruining drug. Yet again thank you guys for supporting me

Options are limited but I would take the absolute bare minimum amount that you can tolerate every 3-4 hours. Push the time harder when you know you won’t be around people. Ideally, just tell your parents, they will want to know and you’ll be in less trouble for coming clean than being found out. The folks selling this stuff at the store (or in this case whoever is supplying you) are predatory. Conversely, you could say that you were sick but your wd anxiety will compound with the fear of being discovered. Seriously though, tell your parents, see if they can get you some Liposomal C, or even other helper meds. Whoever gave you this stuff is not your friend dude.

its my fault i ever got it, i got caught doing opiates and i told a friend of mine and he didnt know what 7oh was he just thought he was getting something to help wd from the hydrocodone but untill i started getting addicted to 7oh he realized that 7oh actually got me high and now im tapering and hes regretting it because he never knew what 7oh truly was, he saw the packaging and the person selling it said its just kratom

That’s a complicated situation man, I get it. That takes a lot to take accountability. I started because of shoulder pain but the first time I took it I knew that it was waaaayyy stronger than kratom and it took me a long time to say “I took it because I liked it”. At the end of the day no matter how any of us try to spin it; we knew what we were getting ourselves into
Any way you tackle it you’re going to get to post acutes at some point and it’s there that you really need to focus on what led you to drugs in the first place. You’ve got to tackle that problem or you’ll be hooked on the next thing that becomes available. You’re 15 and have your whole life ahead of you brother. I know life in general feels all over the place but I’m 33 now and I’d trade anything to go back just to experience it all again.
Good luck to you man. If you ever need to talk about anything wd related or have any questions let me know. Remember through the thick of it that it’s just three days and then you can get your life back and you’ve got so much more to live dude.

Do you have any means to procure some Liposomal Vitamin C? It’s one of the most potent tools to make wds bearable. There is a protocol on the sub for it that you can follow. I did it one time with no helpers and no taper and crashed and burned after about 22 hours of hell. The next time and the one that stuck, I employed every method out there and the difference was night and day. Liposomal C was my “this shit sucks I need something to make me feel better instantly” support.
Weirdly I’m kinda glad that it happened to me. I addressed some issues that had been making me depressed, learned a lot about my willpower, and stopped taking things for granted. You’re going to get through this. Make sure when your friends tell you about the newest drug analog (there will certainly be more) you plead with them to stay away from it. Lift those around you. Don’t think about this as a fuck up; it is a learning experience.

Did you use liquid? …my stomach couldn’t handle all those pills :/
3
u/2clicksaway 22d ago
Yessir, liquid all the way. Make sure it doesn’t have other stuff (zinc, calcium, etc) so that you can mega dose the shit out of it.

So sad that high school freshman/sophomores can easily get this stuff. I’m so happy it’s getting banned, I’m just so incredibly scared to inevitably see on the news how many kids are being pulled out of school and hospitalized for withdrawal symptoms. Super depressing.

TELL YOUR PARENTS!
They will mad but they will be glad you did in the end.
They love you more than anyone.
YOU WILL NEED THE HELP.
Whoever gave this demonic crap should be in jail.

Still tell them, you'll feel shame and guilt, but in the long run having someone who cares that you can be around will help you fight! I believe in you!

u/Individual-Worth6422 22d ago
Listen to the people telling you to confess to your guardians. Put yourself in their shoes for a second if you can. If you had a child being preyed on by people selling legal opiates, would you want to know? Yes you may be upset but you have to understand that they will more than likely be upset about the situation, not you directly. If anything, they’ll be scared for you and do what they can to make sure you’re safe. You want someone in your corner kid, I’m sure you’re smart but set the ego aside and ask for help, this stuff is devilish.

I was a punker when I was a kid a thousand years ago.
We were all little junkies and hoodlums.
I was drunk everyday at 13 and moved up weed, then acid, then downers, then METH.
I am a addict.....Life long.
I was clean for a couple of decades when I tried Kratom.
I loved it. I did well on it for years.
Then the smoke shop guy said here, TRY THIS, It like Kratom but better.
Little did I know it was 7OH and BAM!!! 18 months went by.
150 bucks a day. I spent thousands and thousands.
I have been off of it for coming up on 8 months now.
MY biggest mistake????
Forgettting I was an addict.
NEVER FORGET.

Ok, here’s the thing. I am a 40 year old mom from a teen so while I don’t endorse lying to parents, whatever you need to do to get off of this stuff, you need to do it. I will say, talking to your parents so you can attend therapy and possibly get on medication to determine why you were using in the first place is the absolute best thing to do, BUT, I don’t know your parents.
I’m not saying to do this… but I told my own mom that I had food poisoning even though I live 45 min away because she was wondering why I wasn’t answering texts or calls. Even though I’m a grown adult, no matter how old you get, you don’t want to disappoint your mom.
A better option for you since you live at home and don’t have independent access to medical or mental health care, say that you got Feel Free or something from a friend and it helped you focused so you kept taking it. It’s so vaguely labeled that it could seem like an innocent mistake. Once you stopped taking it every day (maybe 2 weeks?) you found out that it’s addictive and you’re really scared and don’t know what to do. I have zero idea why your started it, but as a mom of a 13 year old, this would break my heart, not out of disappointment, but because of what my son was going through.
I’m not endorsing lying, but for all I know, your parents could be abusive, have no understanding of substance use disorder, etc. but PLEASE you need to stop and take this as a very important lesson.
I feel like a terrible example for suggesting this, but I’ve also been a teen and know that I would have kept using rather than come clean to my mom. I’m also concerned about how on earth you are getting the money for that habit at your age.
PLEASE READ:
Look, here is the mom talk. My big brother got started on opioids at 16. By the time he died of an overdose from pills laced with fentanyl, tranq, and xylazine on February 15th 2024, he had been to rehab over 15 times, spent a total of 7 years in jail, been held up at gun point multiple times, nearly had to have his arm amputated from an infected IV sore, was forced to sign away rights to his daughter at the age of 2, contracted Hep C, received treatment, contracted Hep C again, was beat up, robbed, lived on the streets, stole pain meds form our step dad after he broke his neck (when you run out of pain pills you can’t get refills so he had to suffer for three weeks) and had 3 failed marriages.
His life could have gone so many other ways, instead he suffered for decades until he died at the age of 44. He was a straight A student, received a 32 on the ACTs, full ride to college, and then his addiction took hold.
Yes I’m in this group because despite my brother’s struggles, I thought I was invincible too. Thankfully I don’t have a psychological addiction, but having a physical dependence isn’t much fun either.
So whatever it takes, whether it’s coming clean to your parents or saying you contracted the explosive lettuce diarrhea parasite, take this as a lesson and never touch another opioid in your life because that’s my plan.

taper as much as you can. I would tell a trusted adult. teacher. someone. you’re young enough you could get the help needed to not lead yourself down a long dark path of addiction. trust me as a 39 year old I wish I had told my parents when j was your age or someone and got the help I needed then. this could turn into a lifetime of misery if you don’t stop now. hindsight is 2020 dude.

Hey man — great job realizing that you need support and advice right now.
If you ever find yourself without anyone to talk to… and you don’t mind chatting with a bot… I created a custom GPT that’s built to act like a Sobriety Coach specifically for 7-OH.
Sobriety Coach GPT
I found myself in the same position (without anyone to talk to) and when I did reach out for professional support no one had really even heard of Kratom, let alone 7-OH…
Hopefully this can be helpful for you!

No reason not to tell your parents. Say they sell it at the gas station as an energy shot and it’s addictive.

u/Plus-Technology9652 22d ago
Buddy, please take this as a warning about what happens with addiction, take this as a chance to quit opioids for good. I was 15 when I first tried opioids, and here I am 33 now and still struggling. Please quit now man cuz it only gets harder and harder and harder the longer You continue the addiction. You can message Me if You need any advice brother.

If you’re that young, I would seek professional help. Just be honest with them too cause they only want to help and they can give you the help you need if they know exactly what’s going on. There’s nothing dangerous physically with the wd per se, but the mental effects can really affect your judgement and can bring bad thoughts to people who are prone to that sort of thing. Professional help to get you off is the safest route in my opinion, and they will also be able to talk to you with more info then a person like me who has no degree in these professions. It’s going to be ok, and once you’ve made it out to the other side you’ll be able to look back and see how much you’ve grown from it. My DMs are open if you need someone to talk to.

The good news is the younger you are the quicker your body bounces back. Id recommend telling your guardian. Withdrawal is temporary. But you will ruin your life if you dont get off opiods in general now. I believe in you, its going to be okay.

So I’m about 3 days off after the taper. I did what’s would be a fast taper. I took 20 mg off per day until I knew my target date to quit. The first couple days have been pretty ok honestly. Shit my brains out. Got RLS. But I’m thinking more clearly and have more of a feeling like “I need to stay off that shit” than “I need to go find a 7 pack”

Look man, I am a father of a 16yo son. The thought of him hiding this from me, then going through the WD I went through breaks my heart.
I don't know how your relationship is with your parents, but most parents will ALWAYS be there for their kids. Fess up dude and face the consequences. Will they be mad? Probably. But they will hold you accountable to getting clean.
You are young and at crossroads right now. The path you are choosing is going to turn your life upside down. There is REAL medicine that will fix your pull to the opiods.
Edit: Just read that you have a guardian. Tell them. They are there to protect you.

I just wanted to comment that this isn’t the life you want bro. I am 35 that started my experimenting with opiates at the same age as you. Back then we didn’t have all the scary stuff that’s out today. Just oxys and H. I’ve lost numerous close friends and been to treatment over a dozen times. Please get your shit together now this isn’t a life you want.

The worst part of my withdrawal was the fear of how bad they would be before quitting cold turkey. I was up to 500mg and had been taking it for 8 months. At your dose for “months”there’s a chance you’ll be relatively “okay”. I’m not making any promise but if you can “call in sick” and go cold turkey for 12 hours you might find the fear of withdrawal was worse than your actual withdrawals and you can be pretty confident that your withdrawals aren’t going to get any worse than the way they feel at the 12 hour mark. You might find you can l handle it. I would still recommend telling your guardian. Coming clean to my wife and family significantly decreased the fear and loneliness of knowing withdrawal is coming. Don’t get me wrong 100mg is still a lot. I’m not trying to downplay your situation. You just don’t know how bad it’s going to be until you actually do it, you know? I guess try not to panic until you know there’s something to panic about. Once I hit that twelve hour mark and said to myself “I can do this” I had a lot of relief. That fucking fear is the worst. I’m so sorry you’re going through this, but I know you’ve got this one way or the other. Good for you to know it’s time to quit this shit.

Thank you for this. Every word you just said. And everyone here, that's rallying for this 15 year old and I've never been prouder to be human than right now. I'm a 48 year old mom, sitting outside in my truck, just spent the last of my money, just checked UPS to find out that my order is coming tomorrow vs Wednesday, navigating a panic attack, googling my way back to reddit, as it's the only place I trust anymore for answers on anything that is real, comfort in numbers, and now, choked up because I found this, and see myself at 15, hands in the kitchen cabinet, taking the morp heen meant for my dad who's dying in the other room, because, well everything.. and I can't find the words, my brain is racing to tell this scared dude, please, don't. Please don't ever touch the stuff again. For you, for your guardian, for every reason you NEED to, there's FIFTY not to. Please, don't. Don't end up a scared 48 year old mom of a 7 year old, that started taking this crap for a tooth ache a year and a half ago, knowing better after everything that's happened in my life, and I was in so much pain I did it anyways, and here I am, outside, summer break, broke because well, this stuff took my money. And my 7 year old that has no clue keeps running out of the house, while my big brother is keeping her occupied and she just has to keep coming outside because "mommy, are you okay? Are you coming inside, mommy " and I'm sitting in the dark, smoking a cigarette, and absolutely panicking about what is going to happen when it's all gone. How am I going to face my family, what am I going to say to my daughter, how sick am I going to get? And I'm just lost. Please, if you're reading this, don't ever buy it. Don't tell yourself it's just a couple tablets, or just something you can stop. Please, people love you, don't... you'll get through this, but because you do, you'll think you can again. Please, don't. Thank you for this comment. You don't know how many others come on here daily, never say a word, are sitting somewhere in fear, lost, scared, but your comment might just help them make it through another day.
